I'm digging the look and the actors. Hopefully it gets the story told better than the HBO one did.

Just watched the trailer. I see Nate Parker a/k/a "Mr. Period Piece" is in this joint.

The new trailer is cool and those aerial action seqeucnes look amazing!

Just thought I'd post the poster in the actual thread. :yay:

Saw the trailer last night, liking the look of this as I love World War movies they have always fascinated me. Hopefully its a decent movie as the track record of the cast admittedly isnt the best.

Saw the trailer on Attack Of The Show. The action sequences look huge in scope and pretty epic. Hopefully it's a good movie.

Who is psyched to see them go up against some Nazi jets?

I'm interested to see how well this movie does at the box office..

Due to the subject matter and the characters, I don't see many people coming out to see this, but maybe I'll be proven wrong..

Everyone on this board better go see it at least once or they're banned. Yes, I have that ability.

Indeed! Love me some dogfights! I love that it is done in a retro style like so many of his other efforts. An old school style of WWII fight pilot movie rooted with a solid history that not everyone is aware of. So not only will it entertain but inform people too!

Wow, very few filmmakers would dish out $60m of their own money on a project like that...

Not really surprising, since he's been working on it for so long; he really wanted to tell this story.

Not so sure about half the cast for this film but damn... so far so good.

New trailer...

The latest trailer for the World War II film Red Tails finally has found the right balance between drama and action. The movie is based on the real-life story of the first all African-American squadron and their fight to defend our country. They were given second-hand planes and the most dangerous missions, and it makes their story all the more incredible. The new trailer is the most exciting so far because it while it still has the grandiose language, it feels more comfortable when couched in an exciting action film (and that action looks spectacular).

Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film was produced by George Lucas and stars Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Bryan Cranston, Brandon T. Jackson, and Nate Parker. Red Tails opens January 20, 2012.

Here’s the official synopsis for Red Tails:
1944. As the war in Europe continues to take its toll on Allied forces, the Pentagon brass has no recourse but to consider unorthodox options – including the untried and untested African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program. Just as the young Tuskegee men are on the brink of being shut down and shipped back home, they are given the ultimate chance to show their courage. Against all the odds, with something to prove and everything to lose, these intrepid young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country – and the fate of the free world.

Loved the latest trailer for this, looks a bit corny but I do like WW movies a lot and this seems like an interesting story.

I have a feeling critics are gonna criticize for being to generic but this looks really good to me

The action sequences looks incredible!

Yeah definitely some corny dialogue in there but Terrence Howard always seems so earnest when he's being passionate.

Indeed, woa :awesome:

I'm really looking forward to taking my dad to see this one on the big screen, i think he's going to enjoy it, although it's a pain watching war movies with him because he's always pointing out the little details they got wrong and that most people dont even notice (myself included), like the weapons they use or the planes they fly :hehe:

The dialogue seems like it will be a bit ehh heroic corny but thats alright with me. It's suppose to be a big inspirational movie and sometimes it takes corny dialogue to make that happen. The story is an incredible one and the action looks fantastic. Good for Lucas busting out his money for this movie, I hope it works out for him.

Yeah, it seems the type of movie were corny dialogue is paramount but the actors they have got to deliver should do a good job. Howard is a good actor IMO, I wish he would have stayed as Rhodes in the IM movies as I preferred him to Cheadle.

Yeah, its not often a film-maker will put up a lot of his own money to get a movie made, things like this need to happen more often, hopefully its a success as well.

While the dialogue probably will be full of corn, there should be some good dogfights.
