I can already tell ppl are going to hate this movie. George Lucas didn't write or direct this though, but it's safe to say for the ppl who end up hating this film, he'll get 100% of the blame.

And if people like it, he'll get none of the credit-like with Empire.

Hating Lucas is required to earn interwebz cred.

^same fanboys who bash lucas for ruining star wars with prequels go to conventions honoring the originals with dressing up as storm troopers and such ignore the fact that without lucas they would have no star wars

LOL funny is it not

Yup. Pretty freakin ironic.

And the funny thing is, that for all the talk of this movie seeming too modern, most of the reviews take it to task for coming off like an old-timey "rah-rah" war movie. Which of course is exactly how is it supposed to be, that's what Lucas does.

Rotten Tomatoes: 33%

Despite a worthy fact-based story and obvious good intentions, Red Tails suffers from two-dimensional characters, corny dialogue, and heaps of clichés.

No one's saying you need cold hard facts, but should people challenge your opinion, you seem to make little to no effort to articulate your reasoning in any way that would lead people to respect your opinion.

I don't like repeating myself with various minor word changes. Makes me feel like Mojo Jojo from the Powerpuff Girls. There's only a finite number of ways I can say "It feels modern." Not my fault people don't get it right away.

I don't want to be in that camp that has been saying that if this fails all we'll get is a bunch of black romantic comedies and anvil dropping dramas in the future. But it still bugs me.

I loved this movie. Just an incredibly fun movie to watch. The dogfights were incredible to watch. Very cheesy but its suppose to be. Its a movie that glorifies its heroes and they deserve it. They're story is incredible and I know Im going to search for a book or two about them. 8/10

Why is it when somebody on here complains about the movie looking and being subpar do people come out and say it's because GL is involved?

I not a fan of Star Wars and never have been and I don't hate GL and believe that he has every right to make his movies as he damn well please but I have a right to dislike the actual product without being accused of being a geek who was confronted with the fact that they did only like silly children's movies from the late 70's and early 80's. Those people are freakin losers. But people like myself who legitimately thought that the newest Star Wars films were bad because of the terrible dialogue, acting, scripting and editing are not people out to get GL. They are people who disliked those films.

And a lot of people who think that Red Tails looks unappealing are not GL haters, they just think that the movie looks lame. I resent being told that any criticism of GL's films are off limits just because stupid man children can't get over their disappointment over the prequels qualities.

George Lucas and Michael Bay need to be fused together in The Fly teleporter to create the most delusional, out of touch, over indulging film maker of all time.

the film they would make would destroy the universe while creating another one from scratch...in the process creating Galactus

It's both funny and sad.

no one is saying you can't criticize the movie...not everyone likes everything....However ( and this doesn't apply to you) if you are using the following words to criticize this movie: Jar-Jar, Greedo shoots first,NOOOOOOOO, Prequel, Hayden or Red Letter...then I don't think a person has a valid point

No one here has used any of those arguments. Everyone who has disliked it have given their own reasons which to no surprised have fallen in line with what people who have seen it have thought.

These are comments which were made weeks before it even had reviews out mind you.

I've heard it

I got an e-mail from AMC theaters saying that if I buy a ticket for "Red Tails," they will give me free popcorn. Talk about desperate.

That's basic promotion.

I saw this movie today, and enjoyed it. It is an "old school" war movie as a lot of its critics have labeled it, but I liked that the way I liked the Captain America movie. Red Tails portrays racism, but it's a positive movie about likable characters overcoming the odds.

The action was great, and I was pleasently surprised by the human and emotional side of this film. Several characters deal with their own subplots and personal issues.

I think this might turn out to be one of those movies where there's a big divide between the critics, and the regular audiences. The people in the theater that I was in seemed to really like it. So do the regular users on Rotten Tomatoes. As of right now, 80% of 7,930 RT members have given the movie a positive rating.

Just got back from a viewing....I also enjoyed it.
The audience reactions were positive....they laughed when they were supposed to...got sad when they were supposed to...and at the end they applauded.

I mad right now. I just found out that 4 of the Tuskgee Airman were at the Cinebistro in Hampton, VA maybe a 20 min drive from my house. The local news station covered it and they said they were there singing autographs and chatting it up with movie goers. My friend says all the showings of the movie were sold out and he got a few pics with the airman.

If I had know I would have went to see that tonight and would have went to see Underworld tommorow.
O well, I am looking forward to seeing this tommorow despite the medicore reviews.

Apparently, the movie is making money. It could be #1 for the weekend... or atleast a close #2.

This is a shockingly busy weekend for January.

If this movie does good maybe studios will be willing to make movies with all black cast.
