Getting out of the game.

Its been an ongoing thing. I know first hand because we've discussed alotta stuff.

well people really should just calm down though.. imo this is a stress reliever... and takes my mind off other problems.. if i miss a figure i always eventually find it for a decent price on ebay.. its just a matter of patience..

Yeah, I have the patience. Sometimes when it goes awhile not finding a fig you want it gets to be a pain (IE: KANG).

how are you tormented over ML15 and X-men 3? lol THEY JUST CAME OUT lol... wow.. stressful? lol saint ... you might be letting things bother you a little too much

You're just an opinionated little monkey, aren't you?

Tormented? Not a bit. Annoyed? Extremely. I'm tired of little pieces of crap going out and getting stuff at walmart because they have better access to it. They then turn that figure around online through ebay or through trade boards and burn anyone who would also want a fair chance, just like the piece of crap trader, at the same figure. A stress relieving hobby becomes primal monopolies over plastic toys.

I also get bugged when I get little monkeys flinging poo around thinking they can tell me what I may be wrong about. If something that I have a passion for becomes nothing more than a nuisance and no longer worth the time, I have every right to back out of it. So keep your damn "lol" and "..." crap to yourself. You have your right to your opinion, but damnit, keep your mouth shut and quit thinking you're right and king of crap mountain.

you watched south park last night didn't you. flinging monkey crap. that was a great scene.

damn.. spideyboy just got told.

dude, no one is telling you how to live or what to do.. but i can tell you have issues and get agitated easily... maybe you should take up stamp collecting or something, calm your friggin ass down

Spideyboy, your "advice" and "effort to help" comes off as nothing more than incoherent 13-year-old-on-my-space dribble. In between all of the ellipsises and "lol's", you're lucky I can ever even make out a syllable of english. You pipe your opinion everywhere thinking your own crap doesn't stink. Now, everyone has their right to an opinion. But you are notorious for coming off as an arrogant know it all who has to say something, even if what you're saying comes off as nothing sensible in the first place. Have every damn opinion that you want, but do me two things:

1. Express your opinion without using a single ellipsis or LOL 5 times.
2. Try to convey your message without coming off as a "holier-than-thou" prick.

the only one coming off as a prick is your grumpy ass, you've been acting like a *****ebag to me alot lately when i did nothing to you in the past. I can give advice all i want, its called a free bored. You just don't have to listen. I'm honestly not an arrogant person, nor do i try or think im "holier-than-thou" i just care about alot of people i've never even met or known and like to help when i can. so im sorry you thought i came off that way. I care about all of you guys on the bored for the most part.. yes.. even a tad for doom... and i don't want to see any of you unhappy or getting out of the game just because theres other *******s making it misserable for you.

This thread makes me depressed:(...

You and me both. My eyes were crying from all the hurtful things said so I stabbed my pinky with a pencil to take the pain away from my eyes.

:(:meow:

Sorry to see ya go Saint, good luck with life and everything. Come back and visit every once in awhile.

Depends on where I wind up once I finish everything up. It'll be at least 3 months, or until ML2 from Hasbro comes out.

You seriously gonna be away from the Hype that long?

I...I think I'm gonna tear up....:(

Dunno how long I'll be gone. Or when. Hasbro ML1 so far has no impressed me. I think at SDCC, the Hasbro figures were painted via Toybiz (I think someone around here said this?? Urich?) and what we're seeing is how they'll be produced through Hasbro. I won't be getting Emma Frost. Probably down to just Hercules, maybe Iron Man. And Hercules is iffy. I doubt HML2 will fair any better after they get Hasblown.

I think after I get done with the hunt, I'll spend my time making dioramas so my figures have a better display purpose.

Dude it really shouldn't stress you out so much about figs.

It's a hobby man, you're supposed to enjoy it! I thought about getting out too earlier this year when I found out Hasbro was takin over ML, cuz ML is the only fig line I collect now.

But then I realized that would make me crazy. :)

It was fun, but it wasn't a stress reliever. It's just become a hassle. I, alike everyone else, have numerous other issues that are creating conflicts with a lot of areas in my life. For now, with a limited income, I'd rather concentrate on things like food, car payments, bills, etc rather than figures that are currently just sitting in boxes in the basement.

See that's one of the probs too.

When I first moved into my new place all my figs weren't up they were all in a box, and it stayed that way for like 3 months. That's when I was like "Hey I should just stop collecting."

But eventually I finally set all my furniture up and the figs went back on display, and now I'm glad I didn't get out of the game.

Well, when I think about it, this is what comes into my head:

-I have all the characters I could possibly ever want. I may be missing a few, but they probably aren't essential and I'm not losing sleep over not having them. I have every one of the New Avengers (core group, Ronin won't happen), a good chunk of the x-men, my favorite figures, etc. What more do I need other than maybe like 2 more zombie figures for my Resident Evil display?

-When I'm spending a few hundred, probably about $500 a month, in bills, food, gas, etc, spending money on action figures seems to not be the brightest idea. I need a car, not another wolverine.

-My area is horrible for figures. I have several stores in the area but each one has it's share of people who arrive at 7am to get stuff, and I ain't willing to do that. I'm tired of debating whether or not I should get up that early to find a new series. Getting stuff online is a nice alternative but way more expensive than I'd like.

-I figure that the amount I've spent on figures in the time I've been with my girlfriend is probably enough to buy her a nice engagement ring. I'd like to focus my monetary efforts on a ring and not figures.

-I've had too many bad experiences with other collectors and "scalpers" I've met in my area. I hate dealers who have raided walmarts and sell their stuff for too much money. I know that this kinda crap is normal in this hobby and in several hobbies, but I'm overall tired of it.

-The only time I've enjoyed collecting was when I was trying to amass an army of clone troopers. For the first time, the figures I wanted were readily available and at a good price. I haven't enjoyed it that much since.

-I've had one guy almost want to start a fight with me over action figures. That isn't worth it to me.

-Action figures were originally a means of getting through a bit of "depression". I was a freshman in college, lost about 20-30 pounds, I was a mess. I started getting out and searching for figures at the local comic shop and other stores and remembering why figures are so great. I no longer feel the need to do that.
