Something I've been doing with my comic collection over the last couple of years is having them bound into unique hardcover books that fit nicely on the bookshelf instead of boxes upon boxes of comics in the closet. I recently had the first volume of my planned 16 volume (and counting) GHOST RIDER collection, the photo of which is below, that collections Marvel Spotlight # 5-12, Ghost Rider vol. 1 # 1-12, Marvel Team-Up # 15, Marvel Two-In-One # 8, and Ghost Rider Mythos # 1.

I just last week sent off my next set of GR books - volume 6 - that includes Ghost Rider vol. 2 # 1-18, Spider-Man # 6-7, Punisher War Journal # 29-30, and Dr. Strange # 28. I'll be sure to post a picture of it once I get the completed book back.

For those of you who may be interested in doing this to their own collections, I point you in the direction of one David Banks, who oversees all of my binding projects and is a helluva great guy. Check out his website (http://www.dpbanks.com) for info and more examples.

that looks really awesome. do you think he can have the brand of vengeance from the 90s series put on the front of the cover? cause if i ever get this done id like for it to have the brand of vengeance on it.

Yeah, they can make custom dies as long as you can provide a clear to-size image. But be warned, the dies are pretty expensive - about 80 bucks for one, which is why I didn't get one made for my GR series.

cool, thanks. dunno if ill get it done. least not anytime soon.

im wondering if they keep the adverts in, wich is most likely yes. if i would get them hardcovered i would want something like they would do in a Marvel Masterworks done. it would probably be horribly expensive but worth it. I would be afraid to have my old comics bound.

I had them remove all the pages that had adverts on both sides - obviously, ones with story pages on one side had to remain. I also had them remove all of the back covers to the comics.

My newest Ghost Rider hardcover, which collects the following books:

Ghost Rider (vol. 2) # 1-18
Dr. Strange # 28
Spider-Man # 6-7
Punisher War Journal # 29-30

Wow......they lok great but did you really do it to the MS #5 and JB GR #1.... I would cry if youdid it but there has been plently of reprints. As usual I bow to one of the greatest GR fans.. IXNAY UNBOUND

Oh no, I couldn't in good conscience use my copies of the original comics, lol. So for the first volume I used the 20-issue reprint series The Original Ghost Rider that ran in the 90's and reprinted up through # 12 of the Blaze series.

Just Checking:) Thought you might need a talking to....... Love your site and the hype as well .

As nice as those look (and make it easier to read), I just can't see doing that to any comic.

i think i need to get the resurection tpb and hit every 50 cent comic bin i can find and start binding some comics!!!

Why wont marvel just come out with more Essentials in Color so we can see the whole thing in a trade paperback. C'mon Marvel.

Essentials are 500+ pages of newsprint paper. Printing that much color is going to triple the price of printing, at least. The book would cost us, I would say, at least $75. I rather have the B&W and be able to afford it.
