Ghost Rider IS Being Screened

Amphitheatre is this something important enough to get confrontational about??? Really. Don't you have better things to do?

Advacend, first, I don't think I've been confrontational. I came upon a thread devoted to helping propagate the belief that Sony is on the up and up when it comes to the handling of these critic screenings. I've tried to point out time and again the contradictions in the producers, directors and studio's statements.

Secondly, this thread is filled with posts by you trying to disparage anyone on the web who cast any light on the late Thursday screenings. mainly, you laying blame on the the fim not being ready in time to schedule proper critic screenings. So, if you feel the overwhelming need to ask me if I have anything better to do then I think I would be justified in asking you the same thing.

My stake in this is simple. I have nothing against the film itself, simply the handling of the film in regards to critics from major publications. Those same critics may possibly hold a grudge against the next comic book adaptation. Especially ones based on lesser known characters that have yet to make their jump to the big screen. It's the bias that this situation may cause in the future that concerns me.

^ Actually I don't have anything better to do today...until a bit later. :)

My back is f'd up big time so I can't really stand up right now. We both made our points.

Advanced, when are you seeing GR?

CAH

Batman was ready a month before.

GR has been on the making for a long time, it was initially supposed to come out at summer and it was shot with that schedule in mind, don´t tell me they finished it last week...

Of course they didn't finish it last week. They're still working on it as we speak!

Just saw it at the press screening.
Very good movie. Not PERFECT, but very good.
It comes with the old Spider-Man teaser attached.

i liked it, wom will be fine

I think what GR really has going for it is that it's not really a harsh pg-13 film. It honestly could almost be pg.

I didn't liked some of the most humorous parts, but the weak spots are few.

Not that I expect full-on graphic violence or sex, but reading statements like that is a bit disappointing. Aside from Hellboy, I'd prefer comic movies dealing with monsters and demons, and things like that to be a little more mature. The great thing about Blade was that it looked at the premise and said, "This movie needs to be more adult." Granted, Blade also benefitted from being such an obscure character, there weren't gonna be that many people up in arms about it not appealing to children, this being more commercially successful. I think the same should apply for a character like Ghost Rider. It's about a guy selling his soul to the devil, for cryin' out loud. It's not even a matter of being more faithful to the source material, but just acknowledging that in the context of a live-action film, the concept needs some added sophistication.

From the looks of it, are they going for a Van Helsing Pg-13, where its more light hearted? That's what I'm feeling right now.

Sorry, fanboys and MSJ apologists.

The word is out, and GR sucketh!

The guy who brought us "Simon (yeecch) Birch" and [snicker] "Daredevil" has done it again! . . . a steaming pile of doo-doo.

Nic Cage will no doubt appreciate the further doomed trajectory of his Coppola-flameout-inspired career.

How about "The Wicker Rider": an elderly and burned-out one-note actor sits in a nursing home wondering where his youth--along with his ability to pick good scripts--disappeared.

Recall those of us who pointed out that (1) a limited advance screening with (2) a middle of February no-confidence release and (3) a weak-puke PG-13 rating [Hey kids! isn't Satan cool? Buy the toy!] usually means the movie bloweth very, very hard? Well, we wuz right. This movie actually makes the trainwreck known as "Superman Returns" seem rather profound and inspired.

Someone please see that MSJ, Uwe Boll, and Michael Bay are reassigned jobs that truly match their talents--like scrubbing rest-stop toilets! 'Nuff said.

I really liked Van Helsing too! I dont understand the hate for it.

Wow, again, I really hope MSJ doesn't come to the forum right now. He doesn't deserve this kind of backlash.

Awww, poor poor MSJ. He's paid MILLIONS OF DOLLARS to spend HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS and lays a giant steaming turd. And . . . THE STUDIOS LET HIM DO IT AGAIN! Brett Ratner . . . Michael Bay . . . Mark (yes I'm pretentious so I have three names) Johnson . . . these guys are crappy directors who produce commercials for toy lines! I laugh at their ineptitude and cackle at the moronic studio heads who keep throwing money at these talentless dolts.

How hard did you work last year Mr. Socko and what did you get paid for it? I'll bet you worked harder and earned less than the clowns I named above. But keep wringing your hands for them anyway, toadie.

Roland, everyone's welcome to put forth their point of view on this board, as long as it's civil. Nobody has to resort to name-calling.

:yay:

I can't wait for this movie. I want to be honest with you Mr. Johnson. I admire you as director but I'm not the really a fan of 'Daredevi'. But this movie, you don't know how I'm looking forward to this movie. The trailers, TV spots and clips look great and this really looks a lot better than 'DD' - to me, at least...

Aw, gotta wait until March 16!
