Ghost Rider: The Game(s)

i like this: "Likeness:
Love child between God of War and Road Rash."

God of War was a great game....mucho violence! heh

question, is this game free roam? cause if not, why not? how cool would riding around on the hell cycle be?

Hummm....from what i've seen the beat em up part on foot seems good, hope there's gonna be some tactical use of the chain (swing, distance hook, chain grab at things and enemies, something like Rygar shield control) the road rash part seems to be a little linear/simple/unfinished, hope there will be at least secret passages/forks in the road, high jumps/point where to do some skill test, like the bike air tricks of Devil may Cry(damn it already stole the demon/bike aspect), and some kind of turbo booster like in burnout, they shoud do some part of the gamesystem where to show and use GR real sonic boom/ground shattering/Flash like speeed...
And also i hope it will not be short.
As for 2099 skin in MUA... i think it would be too much of a stretch... too different powers. With spiderman 2099 it could be possible although..

If you look closely at the 3 screens playing at the end of the interview the bike control sensitivity problems noted in the gamespy preview seems real...

How many skins do you think GR will have in the new Marvel game (for info go here http://www.marvelultimatealliance.com/ damn great background music ^^; ) ?
What particular skin you hope will make the cut?
We don't know yet if the skins wil have attributes % modifiers or new added powers (this seems confirmed from interviews) or both, but what kind of attributes should each skin have?
I hope they will make a GR1 skin, with classical white skull(with added hellfire powers), and a brown trenchcoat/sunglasses/ponytail Johnny Blaze one that should look good with the hellfire shotgun move, with maybe whip instead of chain(in X-men legends II they had a Iceman "normal" defrosted skin).
And maybe a classic grey denim GRII one, with yellow flames, plus the red one (i still think Larroca portrayed it good) and the "back in blue" one with spikes on the legs.

P.S.
Hopefully soon we should be able to vote Ghostie in that poll on the site... Maybe many preferences=more skins...

That looks a lot further on in development that I thought it'd be. What with all the bad news about Majesco I was expecting it to look really shonky. Actually, I wasn't sure if they'd even show it. I'm hugely relieved.

Totally agree that it should have a free-roaming environment. I'm very pleased to hear that the Penance Stare's in there! That will be a great way to finish the baddies off.

Thanks for the link, Msambarlow.

GameSpot Hands-On impression

:)

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/707/707204p1.html

Consoles: PS2, Xbox, DS, PSP, GBA

What concerns me is... why would anybody buy a current gen game when the next gen systems will all br out by the time this game launches in Feb '07?

I mean.. 2007 and still on the current consoles... kinda lame.

I might have a 360 or a Wii by Feb '07, but an Xbox... not so much. Sure, the 360 can play certain Xbox games on it, but I can guarantee you that the certain part doesn't include a new release like Ghost Rider.

Why not just make it NEXT GEN?!

Yeah, it's quite strange. I just checked Take 2 UK and US sites and GR wasn't mentioned, but in the italian site http://www.take2.it/news/ on the line up for E3 they say about GR:
" Piattaforme: Console di nuova generazione e sistemi portatili
Uscita: Inverno 2007" that means
"Platforms: new/next generation consoles and portable systems.
Date: Fall 2007"
Either way they have plenty of time even to rewrite it for ps3 and xbox360...

I really do hope they code the game for the next-gen consoles, unless by next-gen them mean.. you could play it on your PS3, even though it's a PS2 game.

had the impression from a recent article/interview w/ the makers that one of the reasons behind the delay was because they had to make another version for the new gaming systems (PS3, ect). dunno...might have read that wrong.
but regardless...im sure they are making versions for the new systems as we speak. would be foolish not to...its just another way to squeeze more money out the games and prolong the game's shelf life just a little bit longer.

Which article did you read this in?

1) Interview with Jim Palmiotti
http://ps2.gamespy.com/playstation-2/ghost-rider/707910p1.html

ok..now i know where i read it...in that Palmiotti Q:
"What's the hardest thing about scripting a video game versus a comic book?"
part of his statement was: "We have been working on the Ghost Rider game for over a year plus… and still have to wait. The other thing is that the formats of the games change, so you have to be ready at any moment to try to satisfy the latest technology and adapt what you have done to match it."

nothing outright...but i just assumed that he meant they had to adapt to the new gaming systems that are coming out (PS3). the PS is coming out late 06/early 07...it would just be in Sony's best intrest to have those games ready for the next system.
again nothing outright but you have to read between the lines in some of these articles. Sony will logically want to sell as many GR PS2 games as possible...if the game company announces now that there will be a PS3 version available at a later date many gamers would probably wait and pass on the PS2 version. if they just hold off on the announcement people will shell out the $$ for the PS2 verison now and will possibly get the PS3 version to check out the updated graphics/gameplay. same kind of business theory that applies to DVDs and why companies do so many "Special Editions" and "Director's Cuts".
again this is just an assumption on my part...could be wrong. but Sony is a business and would be foolish not to be making a game version for the new systems while the production team is still together....and probably still cheaper to have them make it now than later

Guys, GR has been in many games, he's just in disguise...as a 'vengeful' Ninja:

I'll tell ya what skin I don't want...and that's the atrocious red/yellow speedsuit...

Even though it's technically not GR, I think a Vengeance skin has some distinct possibilities, seeing as how the character abilities are virtually interchangable.

LOL!!!!!

he does look like scorpion...hahaha

too bad they didnt keep scorpions original look:(
