Ghostbusters 3

My bet is Oscar is gonna have a female Ghostbuster love interest reminiscent of Kylie Griffin from Extreme Ghostbusters, if not the character herself.:o

yea i could see it going like that maybe. Say since we know oscar will be in early 20s maybe if they do have a female buster like dan has said in the past few months. Maybe they are friends or close in age together and have a thing for each other. Then the other members of the group are a bit older.

I'm all for unknowns, never acted or just small parts, as long as they are good. One character I would like to see is Eduardo Rivera from Extreme Ghostbusters. Whether they use same name or not, jsut his personality makes for a Venkmanesk character for those who want another like him. I would def. like to audition for that role!!!! If it ever happens.*ahem "Maybe he's dead." :-D

I think I'd gouge my eyes out.

Everything that Extreme Ghostbusters was should be forgotten. Forever.

You didn't enjoy it? Yeah, the cast was politically correct, but it was just as creepy and dark as the original series.

This was my idea I posted a few pages back as far as introducing Oscar and a female GB, which could possibly pushed as far as being a love interest.

As for scenarios for each character and how they come into the fray, how's this:

We at least know 2 things. Egon is in Geneva doing research and GB ceased to operate sometime between the game and now for unknown reasons.

Perhaps since then Ray has taken to doing college lectures around the country on the paranormal, based on all the new things discovered during his tenure as a GB and of course research in his personal life. Early in the film, we first see him as he is giving a lecture at a college. It's your usual crowd. Some are interested, some think it's a joke, some are just here cause they were told they'd get extra credit for going and taking notes, and some are hanging on every word. One such student could be Allison Scagliotti's character. She is eating every word Ray puts on the plate and then licking the plate, taking all kinds of notes. Her friend sitting next to her is watching her, wondering if she'll explode. He is an average looking college kid with blonde hair, who is decently engaged by the material, but is more entertained by his friend's drooling. He asks if she's gonna be ok or if he should find a defibrilator just in case, but she quickly shushes him. But there's something about the guy...he's familiar, or at least he should be.

Later on, the lecture ends and Ray asks if anyone has any questions. The girl nearly jumps out of her seat and is about to ask a question, when her friend cuts her off and proceeds to ask Dr. Stantz what ever happened to the child that they helped during the Vigo conflict. Ray squints into the lecture hall seating to see who asked. He grins when he recognizes the student: Oscar Barrett.
Later, as the students filter out of the hall, Ray greets Oscar with a warm hug. Oscar introduces his friend to Ray. She gushes. Not only is she a fan of the GBs, but also a student of the paranormal, as she impresses Ray with her knowledge, and also with the intelligent questions she asks.

So that's how we'd meet those 2 characters.

Maybe another could be a someone that Ray hired at some point to take over at Ray's Occult book shop when he could no longer successfully balance his duties as both GB and shop keeper. Also having an interest in the paranormal, Ray gives him sort of the "Ultimate Promotion" when the time comes to assemble the new team.

PS
Extreme Ghostbusters was an epic win. I loved the animation in both it and the MiB cartoon.

And though I loved XGB, I HIGHLY doubt we'll see any of those characters show up.

yea pretty likely not going to happen there. But cant wait to see how they want to handle the next gen team.

You didn't enjoy it? Yeah, the cast was politically correct, but it was just as creepy and dark as the original series.

The political correctness I can look past - they were trying to expand the audience base and right what some folks considered past wrongs (three white scientists and a black driver).

But even with that aside, I just thought the characters were freaking annoying. And what the hell was wrong with Kylie? Going for Goth didn't make any sense, and the artists made her look more like a spirit than the ghosts they were busting.

And I hated everything about Garret. Whenever he talked my IQ went down.

Plus, I never felt the baddies carry the same... edge that the early Real Ghostbusters villains (before the reformatting that ruined RGB, anyway) had.

any one just read the article over on slashfilm talking about gb and harold hoping to get in production by the summer for a 2011 release. Hopefully we will have more going on with gb3 soon.

yea sorry i didnt post the link in my post, i was reading it and forgot to post the link along.

I dunno about you guys but I'm gonna take a trip to NY this summer to see about being an extra or something.

Anyone remember, in the RGB cartoon, the name of the ghost that wore a tophat and basically sucked people into his body? Not Samhain or the Sandman.

I'll believe it when I see it. Heard this too many times before.

yea that is the case with gb for years there has been oh we want it to go and then the whole murray is the wild card there. But things do seem more a reality now since the video game and all that. But yea it could fall to pieces too. But i do hope it will happen. Personally i like that they want to do sequel for gb and gb not being one of those series getting reboot/remake takes like alot of other 70s/80s projects.

Well i dont know for sure myself, but i would look into the nyc film commission, and look up movie trade magazines and all that. Put also once we know what companies will be the production houses for the film it should be easier to find stuff.

June 10, 2011? Or sometime in August. Sony already has Spider-Man in May and July is already full of blockbusters.

TBD Summer 2011
• Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (BV)

May
• Spider-Man 4 (Sony) - 5/6
• Thor (Par.) - 5/20
• The Hangover 2 (WB) - 5/26

June
• Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom (P/DW) - 6/3
• Green Lantern (WB) - 6/17
• Cars 2 (BV) - 6/24

July
• Transformers 3 (P/DW) - 7/1
• Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part Two) (WB) - 7/15
• The First Avenger: Captain America (Par.) - 7/22
• Battleship (Uni.) - 7/29
• Smurfs (in 3D) (Sony) - 7/29

August
• The Mistaken (SGem) - 8/19

Only way I see Ghostbusters 3 hitting summer 2011 is if it's taking the place of another Sony tentpole. Like Spider-Man 4 which has hit the brakes.

For the holidays Jamie. It hasn't been delayed altogether.

Not trying to be a dick. But you seriously believe that, bud?
