Ghostbusters 3

Yeah. Reminds me of the game, and how they went back to Ivo Shandor. (Spelled right?) It's sexy imo! I like the logo, but could do with the ghost not being muscular looking lol. Would have been better if it had five fingers to just throw the five with one hand, but whatever I still like. I wonder if they will keep regular symbol for the logo in 3 or go with a new one like GB2, which I liked. The meaning of peace, second go for the busters, letting us know sequel. I did see a fan made 3 logo, which looked cool, but needed fixing I thought. It was the ghost almost out of the symbol on our left, with one leg in still as we see it's back and it's head turned to us with 3 fingers up. I can see if the movie had to do with a main baddie or ghosts being released somehow someway symbolizing. I know alot prefer just the original and I could do with that, but something about the logos changing some way like GB2 I like.

Only way I see Ghostbusters 3 hitting summer 2011 is if it's taking the place of another Sony tentpole. Like Spider-Man 4 which has hit the brakes.

Now that it's official they can bump The Green Hornet back until May or go ahead with Ghostbusters 3. Wonder if Thor will slip back into it's first week of May release date.

There you go. I've never thought about it: Ghostbusters taking Spidey's spot..(different date of course)

actually thor got spidy spot, pirates 4 took thor's old spot for may.

Sony needs something for summer 2011, Smurfs 3-D won't cut it. Thor did take the date and Pirates took Thor's old one.

TBD 2011
• Spider-Man 4 (Sony) - 5/6

May
• Thor (Par.) - 5/6
• Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (BV) - 5/20
• The Hangover 2 (WB) - 5/26

June
• Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom (P/DW) - 6/3
• Green Lantern (WB) - 6/17
• Cars 2 (BV) - 6/24

July
• Transformers 3 (P/DW) - 7/1
• Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part Two) (WB) - 7/15
• The First Avenger: Captain America (Par.) - 7/22
• Battleship (Uni.) - 7/29
• Smurfs (in 3D) (Sony) - 7/29

August
• The Mistaken (SGem) - 8/19[/QUOTE]

it's funny how Parmount and Disney is forcing Sony's hand. NOw they don't have much of a choice but to move. Especially when they don't have a complete script with a villain yet.

what if they put spidey in aug? The only issue is it all really counts on how long it takes for the retooling of the script if the guy can get it done soon and to the liking of both parties. Now if it could be done shortly maybe they can get on book again. If not later 2011 release or hold off to 2012 would probably be the other option.

even August has proven to be a profitable month now, it still has a stigma of being the 'dumping grounds', along with January.

Yes, movies like Inglourious Basterds are changing its tune, but still, that movie isn't a high budget tentpole. I really think August is probably best reserved for smaller films both indie and big.

ok i was just throwing that out as another date for sm4 if production can get under way short time after its original date in march. Though if sm4 cant make 2012 i would def love to see sony use this as a shot for gb3 if that can get in production by early summer this yr.

Well I thought the back was facing us, but yea this is the logo I found that I was talking about.

nice logo, i just hope in the movie they dont have a 3 on the logos on the outfits i thought the 2 on the logo in 2nd movie was a bit silly.

Also i know we brought up these guys while ago. I could def see the guy who played Doug(the hangover) and allen(the hangover) as good choices for busters. I def would love to see the guy who played doug as a buster. I liked him in hangover and the two national tresure movies.

That'd be Justin Bartha... who does seem to have the general demeanor to fit in with a Ghostbusters team.

yea thanks i was blanking on justin name i do think he would be a nice fit as a ghostbuster he could be a character in line of like ray i think.

It's kind of a shame that Justin and Bradley have already done two movies together, and are doing a third in The Hangover's sequel. Along with Zach Galifianckis, they had great chemistry, perfect for the Ghostbusters. Though, I guess the SNL guys always do a bunch of movies together, so maybe it doesn't really matter.

yeah, he'd be a great GB to be honest

if they are gonna go with 4-5 guys, here are my picks:

1 - Anton Yelchin or Emile Hirsch for Oscar

2 - Paul Rudd

3 - Justin Bartha

4 - Rainn Wilson

5 - Ryan Reynolds

Dan Aykroyd pointed out in an interview awhile back that he'd be interested in having a female GB as well. i think someone like Alyson Hanigan, Eliza Dushku, Summer Glaus, or Kristen Bell would fit in perfectly

After seeing Whip It, I can totally see Kristen Wiig or Ellen Page as a female Ghostbuster.

Ellen Page would make an epic Ghostbuster! A combination of 2 of my favorite things!

I'm actually really excited to see her possibly stepping out of her usual box under Chris Nolan's direction in what looks like a more serious role in "Inception".

I reccomended another girl awhile ago who was somewhat Page-esque. She's from Warehouse-13, and I felt she had the appropriate combination of snarkiness/wit and nerdy/techy know how in that part to pull off a GB role:

Aykroyd had mentioned the actors would be unknowns, so I figured she was sort of an under the radar version of Page, but with enough of her own uniqueness to be cool. Then again, if we end up getting Cera as Oscar, they may be more open to bigger actors than I thought. Or maybe he meant all the other new GBs except for Oscar.

i doubt cera woul end up as oscar even though he knows the one guy and all that. i would say go with unknown for oscar and maybe one or two of the nex gen busters then at least throw a name or two actors in for the rest of the group.
