Giant-Man the Dropped Ball!!!

I already know they dropped the ball by not putting Ant-Man and WaspIn the Avenger Movie.Robert Downey looks so stupid saying to a Demi-god
WE HAVE A COUPLE OF ASSASINS?????REALLY!!!!What could that possibly mean to Loki?????
Any way my point is with so much of the action taking place in the skies.I believe they dropped the Ball on not taking full advantage of allowingGiant-Man be part of that.It would have been visually stunning not that it already isn't.However why not?
That would have sinced it.To see him walking around through all of it.It was truly a missed oppurtunity.

Can you imagine that Metal Serpent thing wrapped around him and them
crashing into building and such.

Or even a scene like this.

The very fact that there was such a sky war or giant metal Serpent. It could have been his reason for working on a Serum to reverse the growth from small to big it would have made total sense. It could have been the back story and his purpose to be Giant-Man.
You start the movie with him as Ant-Man towards the end he steps out as Giant-Man.
What would he do as Ant-Man simple listen in on Loki's Plan and Wasp she can get in his head literally and cause damage. Not to mention keeping it legit to the true members and Patriachs of the Avengers and keep Hawkeye and Widow if you want.
Anyway it would have been epic please post you thought on what I just said.
Sorry Giant-Man.Even though you really were a founding member as well as this was your type of fight.
Poor Hank Pym never gets his Props!!!

Talk about missing a huge oppurtunity Literally!!!!

I really wanted Ant/Giant-Man too.

It could've been really good. Plus, he and Janet Van Dyne didn't need their own film.

They could've done what they did with them what they did with Hawkeye and Black Widow and just introduced them in another heroe's film or introduce them as SHIELD agents in the Avengers.

But NOOOOOOOOOOO. They couldn't do that.

Are they having there own film.
If so it could have been a sipn-off.
The Avengers would have served as a backstory.

There are 10 characters in this movie

The last thing it needed is more

It would have been great to get the real 'original team' on film. I hope Marvel puts their foot down and we get something that will be Avengers2 relevant by 2014... but.. who knows.

What is a "character" for you?

Frodo, Aragorn, Gandalf, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Legolas, Gimli, Arwen, Eomer, Eowyn, Gollum, Boromir, Faramir, Saruman, Elrond, Galadriel, Theoden...

Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, C3PO, R2D2, Lando Calrissian, Darth Vader, Emperor, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Jabba the Hutt...

Harry, Hermione, Ron, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, Draco Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy, Snape, Dumbledore, Hagrid, McGonagall, Voldemort, Sirius Black, Bellatrix Lestrange...

If a film is epic, then it very often has many, many characters...

All of your examples sort of illustrate the point... those characters were introduced gradually and had various degrees of importance in each film. They didn't shove 12 main characters into the first film

Fellowship of the Ring. The 9 members of the Fellowship, Bilbo, Sarumon, Arwen, Elrond. That's thirteen.

Movie was 3 hours long. And a number of those characters were in it for 5 minutes

There is also the issue of cost. The more characters with visually demanding superpowers in it that requires major VFX then the more the production costs go up, quite possibly exponentially.

Having BLACK WIDOW and HAWKEYE in it are great ways to have a solid roster with fan favourites and keep costs reasonable.

Sorry, but he would be boring as a cinematic superhero anyway.

Yeah, I'd hardly call Arwen, Bilbo, Elrond and Saruman main characters of the Fellowship of The Ring.

And then they don't get done justice as they are only in it for 5 minutes.

Nobody cares if Elrond only gets 5 minutes but if WASP only gets 5 minutes fans will be upset.

Therefore wait for another movie to do them justice.

And this movie will not be 3 hours long? And anyone who's complaining about no Giant-Man would complain 3 times as much about 5 minutes of Giant-Man? And narratively speaking he doesn't really enhance the story this film is telling?

So, what exactly would Pym contribute? Science? They already have two scientists on the roster. Combat ability? Thor and Hulk can do everything Pym can and more, in terms of straight combat.

You would have to get the audience to take seriously a guy whose main distinct contribution is riding around on a flying ant and being tiny. And you'd implicitly be trading Black Widow for Wasp, which means you lose a SHIELD operative, and gain a. . . fashion designer?

One word response to three posts: Sequels.

Hmmm... since we don't get much of Sauron in the first film, I'd say that Saruman is the main villain in the Fellowship of the Ring. Therefore I'd say he is a main character.

Arwen's got a good deal of screentime too. And is part of the only love scene.

So you say it's 10 characters... do you mean Cap, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Widow, Hawkeye, Loki, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Coulson?

Will Maria Hill's role be bigger than Arwen's role in the Fellowship of the Rings? Will Nick Fury have more screentime than Saruman had in the Fellowship? Will Coulson be more important for the plot than Bilbo?

Who knows?
