Giant Spider Attacks Liverpool

This is the coolest and pointless thing I've ever seen.

I think all those low budget sci-fi shows ya'll have over there have taken their toll on your sanity.

i really don't know what to say. how did a mix of lambs and bananas take off? and those are only half size!

It started off as the centrepiece of a big national exhibition taking place in Liverpool around 2000 (ish) if I recall correctly. The 'arty farty' brigade called the then titled Superlambanana a masterpiece. I did think it looked kind of cool, but not if you stood it in the sistine chapel, if you catch my drift.

Anyway, after the exhibiton had finished it was kept in the city centre, so people could view it, and then became synonymous with Liverpool. So when 2008 rolled round, and Liverpool became 'European Capital of Culture' they scattered Lambananas all over the city, all in different guises to represent different aspects of our city's heritage, a nice quirky little idea if you ask me, no more.

A few scallies (THUGS to you yanks) have had the very good idea of nabbing a few and putting them on Ebay in about 6 months, they'll fetch a pretty penny I imagine.

I love the lambananas. I photo a lambanana every time I see one!

as for La Princesse as the spider in named. It has been taken down to be 'researched' and will start walking the streets from tomorrow until sunday when it will disappear down the mersey tunnel (its coming for me. I can tell!)

video of it being removed- http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk...achine-the-spider-on-the-move-64375-21678137/
