Gilligan's Island

Well, there's a musical, so it was only a matter of time before there was a movie, too.

Here's a crazy idea, like THE BRADY BUNCH MOVIE...

DON'T cast nothing but huge names.

I kind of wonder how well this will work. Half the charm of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND was the "ongoing" nature of the adventures.

The other half of the charm was the women.

Zach Braff is Guybrush Threepwood damnit!

I already know how they would market this...the teaser would be a parody, and it would make like it's a big screen version of Lost or Survivor or something, then you hear the familiar theme. Though I would seriously be interested in they chose to play it straight, and make it like an adventure/drama with bits of comedy tossed in.

Geoffrey Rush and Helen Mirren would be great for the Howells.

Just my theory, but I think the Castaways didn't leave the island in the Show because maybe a part of them didn't want to.

Aren't there better tv shows they could make movies out of? And Beyonce?

it should be a straight out adaption with comedy. I would hate to see it end up a parody.

hopefully it will be i would hate to see it end up a parody.

Zack Braff as Gilligan? Oh yes.

For a traditional Gilligan's Island:

Zack Braff as Gilligan
Patrick Warburton as The Skipper, too
Barry Bostwick As The Millionaire
Georgia EngelAs His Wife
Emily Deschanell as The Movie Star
James Marsters as The Professor
and
Elizabeth Banks as Mary Ann

For an "updated" Gilligan's Island
Zack Braff as Gilligan
Patrick Warburton as The Skipper
Erick Avaree as The Millionaire
Caterina Murino as His Wife
Beyonce Knowels as The Movie Star
Omar Epps as The Professor
Elizabeth Banks as Mary Ann

An "updated" Gilligan's Island would probably also have someone like Cedric the entertainer as The Skipper....:csad:

Samantha Ronson as Gilligan.
Lindsay Lohan as Ginger.

Gilligan - Jay Baruchel (Tropic Thunder, Knocked Up, Undeclared)

It's too bad that the classic theme song will turn into a rap track or a rock mix.

I knew it was only a matter of time. This is the Seventh Sign. We are all doomed. The gates of hell have been flung open! Gilligan's Island is being adapted into a feature film.

My only question is will the sequel feature the Harlem Globetrotters?

I really hate Hollywood sometimes.

DJ Qualls for Gilligan.
John Goodman as the Skipper.
This movie would be saved with James Marsters as the Professor.
Hopefully it's more like The Brady Bunch movie...
They should be on a "deserted" island that actually has a huge resort on it... they just fail to see it.
Geoffrey Rush and Helen Mirren would be great for the Howells.

I like these ideas, and as for Ginger, I'd like Amy Adams.

Goodman is my top choice for the Skipper too. :)

The big thing for me about Ginger is that they shouldn't cast her too young. She should be in her early to mid 30s IMO.

Just going to throw this out there:

Schultz's last film adaptation, The Brady Bunch was funny as hell. This doesn't have to be bad.

They should add a twist ending to this where they stumble across the survivors of Lost:D

I can see it succeeding somewhat as long as they don't try going by the overdone serious/"realistic" dumb "Lost" route with it.
