The Dark Knight Gimme Summa Yer Idears, fer how the Movie Should Wrap up

Thanks.

I really like the idea of a hand coming in front of the camera at the end and flipping a coin. Then the hand moves away and you hear Two Face walking away chuckling.

Chyeah.

Yeah, I that'd be sooo cool. Thats why I want it in the ending. It would be so cool, showing that Harvey has been fully transformed, and we don't even see his face yet.

the Hand flipping the coin is actually a GREAT idea.

I agree. And I won't be modest...I fricken love my idea the more I think about it. :woot: Lol but yeah it would just be such a cool way to end the film. Begins introduced Joker at the end and he's the main villain for TDK. Then TDK can introduce Two-Face at the end, and he is the villain for the third. It all fits. :yay:

Personally, I think I'd end it the way it was rumored it would end.

Bruce Wayne with Alfred, preparing to go out on a date, after deciding that Bruce Wayne needs his own life too. "And who, may I ask, is your companion for the evening?" "Selina Kyle." Pull back from Wayne Manor with more peaceful strings in the background, and FADE OUT.

It's too much of a "sequel ending" for me. The Joker reference in BATMAN BEGINS wasn't just a sequel set-up. The franchise could have ended there and it would have been fine, because the message of the Joker card isn't "you're going to see this guy in the sequel" but rather to underly the theme of the scene, that Batman's crusade will produce enemies to match.

Showing the coin and all doesn't serve any other function than to say, "You're going to see this guy in part III."

I agree and disagree. Yes it does have a "sequelish" ending, more so than the card, but I can almost make the same argument as you. By showing the coin flipping after Bruce's believe speech says that after all that Bruce thinks, there's still gonna be problems in his life, still challenges to face. If we hear nothing about Harvey's escape or anything and just see a coin flipping, the movie can end there without a sequel. All we assume is that Harvey escaped and became Two-Face. Its not like a Barbosa cliffhanger where we see him and wonder WTF? Its more of small cliffhanger showing that throughout his triumphs, Bruce still couldn't stop this. Obviously though, there would be a sequel. But I do see what you're saying, even though as soon as I saw the Joker card I was like "Sequel Sequel! Sequel! The Joker's comin back! WOHHOOOO!" I actually said that to my friends as I walked out of the theatre lol, which made me have to explain the whole Begins not a prequel to B89 situation. :cmad: I hate my friends. :oldrazz:

I think it's obvious how the movie needs to end. This franchise's films should consistently end with important resolutions and development for its two most powerful and interesting players. Sequences that not only resolve character issues for Batman and Gordon, but speak to the larger story about what's happening to Gotham, because Gotham itself is as much a character as anyone. So THE DARK KNIGHT needs to end as follows:

-With a temporary reprieve, and The Joker having gone to Arkham.
-Harvey Dent having been scarred, and them having lost a friend to the war, and possibly even to madness by this point.
-Batman realizing that things are just going to keep getting worse ,the new kinds of madness they are going to be facing.
-Batman and Gordon making a conscious decision to keep fighting his war, despite the costs to themselves and those they care about.
-With Batman and Gordon "making up" (I hope they have Gordon forced to hunt him in this one, but we'll see)

So naturally, once again, it needs to end on the roof of Police Headquarters. That much, they absolutely nailed in BATMAN BEGINS.

Guard. Great to see you around. Now it feels like the Hype's starting up. The last few days were just a warm up. Now let's all get into some great lengthy arguments for my amusement.
