Should have started w/Killing of a Sacred Deer, but I'm very happy to see him taking off now.
Not a lie told. He felt genuinely off in that. So damn creepy.

Yeah, I’ll be glad if he starts doing this alongside his main roles. Could mean he stays acting for a fair bit longer.Been waiting on Denzel to take on more supporting roles in big films like this. Could be an amazing final act for his career going forward.
I feel the same way! Didn't care about this, but now I'm excited since Denzel is in! Never watched the first Gladiator, so that should be good.Damn it feels like I've been waiting forever to see Denzel Washington in a EPIC role/movie like this and a part of still doesn't believe its happening, especially under Ridley Scott.
I just went from not caring about this to an automatic Day 1 for me.
Rome was a lot more diverse than is given credit for. To my understanding, it would not be unusual for a local warrior from one of the territories to rise up to general.I’m all for colorblind casting but I don’t think it would make sense for a black person to be a general in that time period
Him producing adaptations of the entire August Wilson cycle was more than enough for a perfect sunset career direction, but taking more great acting roles on top of all that is even better.Been waiting on Denzel to take on more supporting roles in big films like this. Could even win an Oscar for playing the Joker like Heath Ledger & Joaquin PhoenixHe'll be twice or thrice Oscar nominated before his "legit" Joker performance in Batman Part III
Calling it now
I'm still utterly perplexed they didn't get the original actor to play Lucius.
It's not uncommon in Hollywood to recast the character even if the original child actor was still in the business. See also: Mae Whitman being recast in the Independence Day sequel although she absolutely dodged a bullet there.I'm still utterly perplexed they didn't get the original actor to play Lucius.
