I truly think rap fans aren't exactly clamouring to see Mr. Shue, Artie and Finn trying to rap while making "gang signs." In real life, I can't stand it when people gesture with gang signs to try to look cool.

That's most likely true, but I like that the show's tried to include as many genres of music as it can. I've seen a couple complaints from R&B fans that they don't do enough R&B though.

The difference is, R&B can actually be sung by a group of singers. The show has done waaaaaaaay to much rap, I think.
