no, it's a personal preference. i find her voice very attractive. I like her raspy voice

I just mentioned a few posts up that I have no problem with her voice.

She's a case of someone who has a voice, but doesn't know how to sing. "When I Look At You" is a perfect example of this. It's a mess.

Kinda like Alicia Key's "No One". How any producer listened to that take and thought she sounded great is beyond me.

I dont care much for the song, but I dont think she sounded that bad in No One... then again, I'm no expert in vocals or anything, so that may be why....

it's all subjective anyway... if you like something you like it. no right or wrong about it.

Well, I certainly won't pretend to be any kind of vocal expert so I very well could be missing it, but I've definitely never heard the potential greatness in Miley's voice. I've always felt she had a mediocre voice at best, and demonstrated less-than-mediocre skill with it.

But I agree with the original point - ND needs a female rocker voice (no biggie - we just need to find the next Janis Joplin. Piece of cake, right?), and I think they need a true male Broadway voice, as well (Will doesn't count).

Not really.

Me Against The Music, Valerie, Bad Romance, Toxic are all pretty modern/recent. Considering Valerie is based on Amy Whinehouse's arrangement it technically counts.

Even if it was based on the original Zuton's version it would be modern, it only came out in 2006.

The full songs are out on gleethemusic.com, apart from "The Dog Days Are Over", which is here.

Love it; really wish Jenna got to sing more (I'd really like her to duet with Naya, since their voices are somewhat similar but also distinct).

The dueling versions of "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina" are both strong, though I prefer Lea's.

i have realised that ND is missing one vocal type, that i wish we'd eventually get... and that's the raspy female voice... santana is the closest thing, but i'd compare her more to a christina aguilera type.

Heh, I was gonna say they're painfully lacking an African-American male singer.

Artie is really the only guy on this show that can pull off R&B/Hip-Hop and even then it's only done for comedy.

But that will never happen, because Finn "must" be the lead male of the group, and the singer you are proposing would clearly outshine him and make it even more difficult for the audience to believe that Finn is the strongest all-around male voice out there.

If you follow wrestling at all, Finn is basically the John Cena of New Directions.

I really like her voice; she's got really good range, she does Broadway like Lea and can do the sorts of songs Naya does too.

Not to be picky but technically the arrangement on Valerie would be Mark Ronson's.

Colfer's voice is hit or miss for me, his rendition of Don't Cry for me Argentina is a definite miss. It's kinda hard to even listen to, sorry.

Dog Days and Valerie are the only ones I'm really into this week.

I love Glee and I adore Florence and the Machine, so I assumed this cover of Dog Days would be amazing, but my god it's horrible. They literally managed to remove everything I love about the song. I dunno maybe it'll be better when I see it on the show.

I'm not a big showtunes guy, but I think Lea's version of Dont Cry for Me, Argentina sounds pretty damn good.

So glad that Will got called out on the way he showcases the members.
