If I see this on the 12th, I won't be seeing it at one of the local IMAX's but the so called "Mega-Screen" Its a normal aspect ratio screen but gigantic, and has pretty much the best theater seats and sound system I have ever encountered. Its also one of St. Louis's only screens with a 4k projector. For most things, I've found its actually better than the Liemaxes we have around here.

I saw Pacific Rim there for free last year as well.

A serious summer tentpole about a giant, mutated lizard that breathes atomic breath starring Bryan Cranston? Why, that would never sell! Not that many casual viewers would see that.

I'm confident this film will be great...but I don't put much stock in the "studios thoughts" very similar things were said about Sony and TASM2 and it backfired horribly critically.
