I really like Godzilla 85, but sadly haven't been able to see the Japanese version. They need to release it! Also the Millennium series had its ups and downs but I thought GMK was really great.

How sci fi do you think this could get as a film series, if we get more of Edward's Godzilla? Should we see a world totally changed by the reveal of Godzilla in a sequel or would others prefer it stay as a world similar to are own as it is now?

A sequel that has other classic monsters besides Godzilla with the tone and atmosphere of Monsters and, by the looks of it, this new Godzilla film would be something truly amazing.

Ok. So you'd be down with a world that is quite different in a sequel. Cool. I think that might be interesting. In the Japanese films it there was often this crazy world of secret tech and aliens and what not, but it was always recognizably our world. Perhaps an American G series could put it's stamp on the character by exploring the way such an event would change so many things in the world.

It's been confirmed (on numerous occasions) that that is NOT Rodan. Or Mothra. They're called the Mutos. They're completely original creatures.

I know they've said that...but it just seems odd to me they would create a completely original creature that looks exactly like an established Godzilla foe for their Godzilla movie. It's like if someone made a Batman movie and said they weren't going to use any existing villains, then we saw trailer for it with a homicidal, green-haired clown in it.

Just in that toy. I don't remember the Cloverfield creature having wings.


At best, they're going to have elements borrowed from other Toho creatures and if this film is a hit, we may very well see classic Toho monsters in sequels because as of 2009(?), Legendary has the rights to:
Godzilla
Mothra
Rodan
King Ghidorah
MechaGodzilla.

But it doesn't look that much like Rodan beyond flying. Its not as if Rodan was the only Kaiju to ever fly.

You might as well say that it's Otachi and that a Pacific Rim crossover is confirmed.

Giant Condor Confirmed.

I mean JJ Abrams lied about Kahn so obviously every director and movie trailer is lying.

They wouldn't have something in the trailer that looked this much like Giant Condor and not pull the trigger on having that classic enemy.
