all the James Bond movies have the same theme...its one of those things that resonates with the creature.

True, but that's not the same with other icons like Superman, Batman, even Spider-Man, etc.

None of those are comparable to Goji because the first film from the 50's came with that iconic theme. It's part of his inception.

All the others are adaptations whereas the first piece of Godzilla anything came with that musical cue.

difference is that those didnt really have over 20 movies to their names...plus Elfman's Spidey theme is forgettable and the new Batman's isnt all that memorable either.

Guys this isn't the same thing as the previous Godzilla movies. It's a Hollywood production. They are doing their own thing. Just like Godzilla isn't a man in a suit this time. They are doing things their own way.

Oh is that so? I had no idea. Thanks for the heads up.

craigdbfan, people are hemming and hawing about the music theme. It's different. As excited as everyone is about this thing and it looks cool and all, they aren't going to use the classic music and stuff. It's a straight reboot. And most reboots don't use the original classic music and themes, with some exceptions of course.

But I bet they'll come up with something similar sounding and if that's the case, what's the point?

Reboot or not, the theme is as closely related to Godzilla as the spikes on his back.

I understand that its a reboot and understand why they would want to make it different but I think its a missed chance to bring that theme with a modern twist to this new era of Godzilla.

I will say this from what I've seen in the trailers, Godzilla kinda still looks like a guy in a suit to me ironically lol.

;I thought the theme for Godzilla in the WonderCon footage was quite good.If that happens to be a new theme, I wouldn't mind.

I've noticed that too. I'm wondering if they did it on purpose? He looks kind of animatronic/guy in a suit at some points in the footage I've seen (something I absolutely love).

random question, but do they ever explain where the Godzilla from the Return of Godzilla comes from? The original was destroyed by the oxygen destroyer so....was it a different monster?

I think it's on purpose, as an homage. Plus it's charming.

Yes.

so guys we've got 15 days to go, so i've deiced to watch 1 godzilla movie a day. i was planning on viewing a full series but sadly dont own complete sets( damn you toho get off your ass's)

so starting with the original classic, not sure if i should go in order or just jump around

so there is two Godzillas...one attacks in 54 and the other in 85? I have to re-watch the Heisei movies again.

In both the Showa and Heisei series, it was a 2nd Godzilla that attacked. The oxygen destroyer killed Godzilla in the original film.

You should save Godzilla '98 for last. That way when you see this new Godzilla movie, it will seem even better than it is.

I'll take that as a compliment. That also has to do with the consulting of Andy Serkis.
