So watched Destroyah and Space Godzilla last night. I liked Destroyah much more, it had a really good soundtrack.

Godzilla vs Destoroyah is (at the moment) my 2nd favorite Godzilla film period.

I found SG was okay but it dragged on more than it should have. I was ready for it to end a good half hour earlier. Destroyah was all sorts of crazy fun though.

This new Godzilla look will take some getting used to, IMO he looks too much like a turtle through the face compared to the way he has looked in past movies.

I love it too. I love Goji's "Batman" entrance when he meets Titanosaurus.

I think Godzilla has a decent chance of grossing more Domestic than The Amazing Spider-man 2, as I think this film will have better legs.


Hell, I don't think it's a lock for $200M for ASM2....as early word has Neighbors being #1 this weekend and Spidy perhaps may drop big.

Also really liked how most of it took place from the point of view of the villains. More superhero movies should try this, since the villains are usually the best part anyway

There's a little game going on at the B.O. forums regarding Godzilla's box office potential. As of right now, I have opening at anywhere from $65-75 million with a domestic gross of about $230 million and overall gross of about $600 million. Don't get me wrong, I would love if this did more, but those are my 'realistic' predictions. Assuming the movie is good of course...

This has a score of 63 currently on the BFCA/CriticsChoice site. Kinda surprising with all the positive buzz that's been coming out recently.

I still never understood how their grading system works.

I don't either but Captain America has an 88 and ASM2 has a 72. While I haven't seen those films their score seem to line up with their reviews. 72 might be too high for ASM2. Godzilla's current score is the equivalent of 1 out of 4 stars. I'm hoping someone just gave it a super negative review and their only counting a couple reviews so far seeing as it was at 80 2 days ago.

Personally, as much as I do want this movie to get solid reviews, I don't really give a damn what critics say nowadays (especially after the whole Man of Steel fiasco).

I wouldnt worry too much, Neighbors has a score of 60 on there and look at its RT score in comparison.
