This was in the Cloverfield thread, but I think it's an interesting clip of a trailer in question to take a closer look at.

This is from wikipedia. It has not citation, however neither does the vast majority of the information contained about Godzilla 1998 in this article. So it's still anyone's guess. Makes me mad, why not Cloverfield first??????!

Possible Reboot

Several news and media websites reported receiving posts from message board users containing bootleg footage that appears to show a film trailer for a potential reboot of the Godzilla franchise under Tri-Star Pictures. Vague descriptions cite the trailer to premiere with the upcoming summer blockbuster Terminator Salvation. YouTube and IGN.com's online message boards allegedly were contacted by attorneys representing Tri-Star-Columbia in violation of copyright infringement laws on Saturday May 9, 2009. Both media websites reportedly cooperated and subsequently removed the footage. No official statement from Tri-Star Pictures has been made regarding the supposed "leaked" trailers.

Would they really outright say its Godzilla? For a trailer clip its also pretty boring.

What happened to her? She was in a short lived sitcom, Godzilla, and then her career was over. Guess she just couldn't bounce back from it.

i saw her body of work on imdb.com. You're right, she hasn't done much in recent years.

Someone is obviously a fan of Rolland Emmerich movies or something and decided to put together some fanmade teasers. There's no way these two projects would fall under the radar of everyone. Cloverfield wasn't a known brand whatsoever so of course no one knew about it but Godzilla and Independence Day are huge names. And he wouldn't be able to reboot BOTH at the same time.
