Get the whole Who's Next album by The Who, one of the best, if not THE greatest album ever, IMO.

And Stairway to Heaven. That's also a must.

Of Course you need some Doors too

And some early Black Sabbath.

Freebird!

Freebird!!

Freebird!!!

And definitely Skynyrd.

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.

Bye, bye, its been a sweet love.
Though this feeling I can't change.
But please don't take it badly,
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame.
But, if I stayed here with you girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you'll never change.
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.
Lord help me, I can't change.

Wow, it's hard to imagine thinking of Twisted Sister as classic rock. I'm too tired and lazy to list individual songs or albums but the list below is a good start:

AC/DC
Led Zepplin
ZZ Top
The Who
The Doors
Black Sabbath
Queen
Ozzy Osbourne
CCR (That's Credence for you youngsters)
Van Halen...(not those blashemous Van Hagar years)
Styx
Aerosmith
The Eagles
Tesla

The Beatles

any of their songs

The Beatles have some of the best lyrics I've ever heard.

And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
don't carry the world, upon, your shoulders.
For well you know that it's a fool, who plays, it cool
by making his world, a little, colder.

~Hey Jude

It's only love, and that is all,
why should I feel, the way I do?
It's only love, and that is all,
but it's so hard loving you.

~It's Only Love

No love for PINK FLOYD??!!!!

-Comfortably Numb
-Welcome to the Machine
-Another Brick in the Wall
-Hey You

What about LED ZEPPELIN?!

I recommend you try and find different Queen albums, such as News of the World and A Night at the Opera. Greatest Hits are the most common ones, of course (You'll find those in stores that don't specialize in music.), but my philosophy is to listen to pretty much everything you can find from an artist. " '39" is currently my favourite Queen song, from the aforementioned A Night at the Opera (Which also contains "Bohemian Rhapsody", and "You're My Best Friend".).

AC/DC is a good band for general listening. For them, I could recommend a fair number of albums (I have many AC/DC CDs.). High Voltage is certainly a must. The Razor's Edge is pretty good. Naturally, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is a favourite. Currently, I listen to the Live album - which features "Thunderstruck", "Shoot to Thrill", "Who Made Who", and an excellent version of "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap". These guys seem to have an endless amount of albums, though, so it'd take me forever to recommend them.

My favourite bands are Queen, Alice Cooper, and Blue Oyster Cult. For Alice Cooper, pretty much any of his old albums yield the classics. "Billion Dollar Babies", "I'm Eighteen", "Welcome to My Nightmare", "Steven", "School's Out", "No More Mr. Nice Guy", "The Ballad of Dwight Fry", "Under My Wheels", and "Feed My Frankenstein" are among his best known. Other good songs include "Is It My Body?", "The Black Widow", "Simple Disobedience", "The World Needs Guts", "Halo of Flies", and "Teenage Lament '74" are some good older ones. Then he went into a different direction after the eighties, with some interesting songs on The Last Temptation album, and Brutal Planet is essentially a metal concept album (And a good one at that. If you wouldn't mind recent heavier stuff, give it a look.).

Blue Oyster Cult is difficult to recommend, because most people don't seem to take to them, aside from making "More Cowbell" jokes and referencing the big three: "Don't Fear The Reaper", "Godzilla", and "Burnin' For You" ("Astronomy" is arguably fairly popular, but more likely because Metallica covered it.). Other good songs from them are "Flaming Telepaths", "ME 262", "Subhuman" (My favourite Blue Oyster Cult song, actually.), "Harvester of Eyes", "Cities on Flame With Rock and Roll" (If you can find the Career of Evil: The Metal Years album, the version of this song on it sounds more appropriate than the usual studio version.), "Golden Age of Leather", "The Marshall Plan", "Harvest Moon", and "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" (AWESOME video of this on YouTube. Runs approximately 8+ minutes, with a great guitar solo by Buck Dharma.).

Some general recommendations of bands to look into include Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, CCR, The Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Aerosmith, Rush, Pink Floyd, King Crimson (Which I've picked up on, thanks to a mention from another Hype! user.), ZZ Top, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones (Of course.), The Beatles, Led Zeppelin (Many, many great songs to be found there.), Nazareth, Trooper, ELO (Electric Light Orchestra), The Steve Miller Band, Tom Cochrane and Red Rider, Bachmann-Turner Overdrive, Billy Idol, and countless more.

As do I. CCR rule.
