The 100 Greatest Rock And Roll Songs Of All Time As Compiled By...

this list needed more ..queen damit
enter sandman kicks sooo much ass
just one prince song...this list is incomplete

WTF..NO KISS?:down

I think it was a pretty good effort. I think its safe to assume most things in there would be up in the top500

I won't post my list, but I can post my reasons why I won't make my list:

1. there's way too many cats out there, and limiting myself to 100 would mean lots of them won't be included
2. the lists already posted contain some of the best rock songs ever done, there's no use to make another one, just take your picks from the ones there
3. I'm feeling lazy today
4. lots of people would jump at some of my inclusions ("about a girl", Bleach version instead of "smells like teen spirit"? what did PLAS smoke today?.... wtf is Madonna doing in this list?... what tha hell is a Klaatu?)
5. although I do enjoy rock music from all eras, I always tend to focus my attention on the newer, most recent things coming out, so any list I make would obviously tend to lean towards more recent stuff

still, there's not enough Springsteen on those lists

so far, just pcp laced with caffeine and shoe polish

You forgot:

Enter Sandman - Metallica
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Iron man - Black sabbath
Cowboys from hell - Pantera
Hells bells - AC/DC
Unforgiving - Metallica

if we start listing the "forgotten" songs, we'll never finish, in that case go to the "what are you listening to now" thread and pick randomly

It's really dumb to try. Hahahaha
I think there are 3 million songs that I believe are the best single song ever written.

And wicked list, TT

still teaching and playing, although with a different band now, El Estado is on standby for the time being, me and the drummer got together with a friend of ours who's a bass player/live act and my girlfriend who used to sing in a classic heavy metal band

here's our new stuff: www.myspace.com/varzovia

we're currently mixing our first ep

Sounds great! Is that you on Bass or Guitar? Your drummer might try to go a little faster! :D Damn.

Good going, best of luck with it.

You guys need to put more Kinks into that list.

I'm on guitar, the versions you hear are very early versions, some of them are the very first time we played the songs completly through or were still in development

but we have more songs now and the ones in the page are now somewhat changed

thanks for listening

Wow, didn't think this thread would generate so many responses.

I agree with a lot of that.

Thanks.

Plenty I'd disagree with (Cyndi Lauper?), but a valiant effort, overall.

I knew a few people would disagree with me on "Time After Time". But hear me out.

The list, for the most part, is supposed to incorporate all forms of rock, even soft rock, which "Time After Time" most certainly is. It is also the most beautiful songs ever made: the arrangement, Lauper's vocal performance, the lyrics, etc., are all perfect.

You've just helped me add a few more songs to my ipod, nice

Glad to be of service. Oh, and your avatar kicks ass.

I tried to do it (make one of my own), but I just couldn't.

**** YEAH!

Also, great lists from the rest of you.

And I'd agree that there's way too much great rock n' roll out there, and trying to compile a list that wouldn't destroy the internet with its sheer length would be impossible.

Personally I would have a Beatles song at #1, but it's your list. Although I must ask, how is Tenacious D not on the list?!
