good classic rock songs

Just to help out the youngstas...Iron Maiden is not "Classic Rock", nor is Quiet Riot or Twisted Sister.

Iron Maiden is "Laughable Crap".
Quiet Riot is Hair Metal, and they got hits by doing straightforward covers of the really classic 70's Glam Rock band "Slade".
And Twisted Sister is also Hair Metal, trying to be Shock Rock, in a more naive, and simpler time.

I believe The Beatles, LED ZEPPELIN and David Bowie are above all other bands, in another genre of Rock GOD status, as for good songs by bands that appear on radio stations that purport to play "Classic Rock", you can not go wrong with:

It's a typo.

zomg.

Thank you Dr. Feelgood.
No, its a common misspelling. A typo is when its an unintentional slip of the fingers... Skynyrd is my favorite band of all time, and one of my biggest pet peeves is when people claim to like a band but don't even know how to spell the band's name.

So what did make the seventies great?
Of course, what made the seventies great isn't a universal opinion, so you're going to get people who insist that it was disco that made the seventies great.
Still interested in hearing why you think The Eagles and others somehow killed what was great about that decade, though.

If you don't like them that's fine, but I fail to see how many of the bands you cited (Asia, Chicago, Kansas, the Eagles) "blow" or killed anything at all. Half of them were making music through the 70s for god's sake.

I always misspell it, and I even looked it up before I posted so I'd be sure I got it right and then went ahead and got it wrong anyway.

Journey:

Don't Stop Believing

Wheel in The Sky

Kansas

Done deal. They only had 2 hits. :o

And on a side note, there are no bands in the 'classic rock' genre more overrated than the beatles and led zepplin. In fact I don't even consider the beatles 'rock' because they most certainly do not.

I know I have an opinion against the majority, but damn I can't fathom why so many people like their music. Whenever I see praise going towards the group I have to mention my dislike for balance.

Most other classic rock worth listening too has been mentioned already, so nothing comes to mind to add to that list.

Totally agree. But yes, we are in the minority my friend.

=awaits the bloodshed=

People who honestly don't like The Beatles or Led Zeppelin just don't understand why they're so important.

What does that have to do with liking them?

What does that have to do with liking them?

Everything. The people who write off The Beatles or Led Zep don't understand why they were so influential in the first place.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

I don't like Renaissance paintings, but does that mean I don't understand their significance to modern art today?

Care to elaborate?

I hear a lot of people go on and on about the influence of the beatles, but no one ever elaborates.
Which just gives credence to my views that they are all fluff and no filler.

I myself don't see anything influential about they're music, it made no impact on me. From an auditory standpoint they're horrible.

Exactly.

Let's see here. They revolutionized the pyschedelia genre, introduced the concept album to rock and roll, wrote some of the most powerful anthems of the era, have an influence that no other band can claim, and they produced the most successful songwriting due of all time. People who cannot see why they're as lauded as they are simply cannot comprehend artistic integrity as far as I'm concerned.

Thats great.

No get ready for this....

I don't like their music. :wow:
