YOUNG AVENGERS #12 had Wiccan and Speed wanting to find Scarlet Witch again. I was sort of hoping her reappearence would happen in the next volume instead. Y'know, because Heinberg, at least from YA SPECIAL #1, seems to remember when she was a heroine and not an insane, PMS-ing plot device.
And, no DUH, Spider-Man and Wolverine are going to remain New Avengers. Making those two Avengers was quite literally the ENTIRE purpose of New Avengers (at least from my impressions of an interview on the ULTIMATE AVENGERS DVD). Regardless of who was writing New Avengers, Joe Q wanted Spider-Man and Wolverine there. Those two being there, despite what some interviews may've said, wasn't all because of Bendis. Now, Luke Cage and Spider-Woman, THOSE were probably Bendis. Heck, I'm sure the rest of the roster was up to him. But Spidey & Wolverine were the editorial picks, IMO. Joe Q said he wanted to recapture the concept of the Avengers "having all the coolest guys in one book, like Mark Millar suggested", or words to that effect.
That said, I'm not thrilled with yet another return to HOM stuff with NA #26. Bendis tried that with THE COLLECTIVE, and that ranged from good issues to conveluted crappy issues. HOM was his baby and it looks like as soon as CW is over, we'll have to continue dwelling with it, because Bendis wants us to. Whether we like it or not.
Granted, MIGHTY AVENGERS may get to avoid that. But that's Bendis too. He hasn't fared well in superhero team books. He does better with solo heroes and noir heroes.
