Not sure how many of you are fans of Gorillaz like I am, but this is the video for Stylo.

I'm looking forward to Plastic Beach!

Somehow I knew Stylo would be mentioned. :awesome:

Great song by a wonderful band!

i like the new cgi style.

I've pre-ordered the new album so hopefully it'll come by the end of the week.

i'm hoping plastic beach house is good. the vid for stylo is very sweet. i dig it.

What's everyone's favorite Gorillaz songs? Mine are M1 A1, Dirty Harry, Man Research, Rock the House and Dare.

Clint Eastwood, Kids With Guns, November Has Come, Ghost Train and Tomorrow Comes Today.

Damon Albarn is great he can try any style of music and it usually turns out great.

Stylo is a pretty good song I must say. I'm not digging the album as a whole though has too much of a dated electro/synthpop sound to it. I must say though, I was surprised to hear Lou Reed's song on here it was pretty nice.

I'm quite impressed with the new album. Stylo has grown on me (especially with the video), but it's still not what I'd call "single" material. In fact, that's probably the main issue with the work, it doesn't have that one killer piece like the others, a "Feel Good Inc" or "Clint Eastwood" to elevate it.

But that's a moot point and for all I know, that could have been what they were going, a less commercial venture than their previous two, it certainly wouldn't surprise me. And it still has plenty of great tunes, "Superfast Jellyfish" and "On Melancholy Hill" chief among them with "Some Kind of Nature" being by personal favourite thanks to the inclusion of Lou Reed.

As it stands, its probably the best record of 2010 so far

Everyone's said the same thing about Stylo, that it's one of those songs that takes more than one listen to to get a feel of it. As for the songs I've heard; I like Superfast Jellyfish, Welcome to the World of Plastic Beach, Empire Ants and Plastic Beach. It is a bit different than what I'm use to when it comes to with Gorillaz, hell even the storyline is different; not sure how I feel about Russel being MIA and Noodle being a cyborg who's Murdoc's bodyguard.

Yeah, I have learned since Clint Eastwood to not sleep on Gorillaz. I'll be picking it up.

El Manana, Dirty Harry, Clint Eastwood, Kids with Guns, O Green World, November has Come, Feel Good Inc, M1 A1.

I listened to Murdoc's A to Z on BBC radio 1 the other night with Rob DaBank

I haven't heard it but I will check it out now. I just saw a advert on last night for the new album, first I've heard of it.

That photo is pure win in its most concentrated form, it was clearly taken with a camera sculpted out of win by the best Tibetan monks who devote their entire lives to properly understanding the ins-and-outs of win-masonry. It features Bruce Willis who defies both math, logic, physics and reason by somehow being comprised 150% win AND it comes from a Gorillaz video clip.

Love this album. Listen to it at least once every day.

Favourite tracks are Empire Antz, Rhinestone Eyes and Sweepstakes. Like em all though.

Albarn is a true pioneer. Getting grime MCs (Bashy and Kano) on board for a straight up pop tune, Lou friggin Reid and the awesome Little Dragon amongst others. It's probably the most eclectic and unpredictable albums i've ever heard.

This is some serious praise on the cusp of hyperbole here... but I'd say Damon Albarn pretty much has got Gorillaz to the point where I'd say they're the most progressive act since Pink Floyd.

...and some additional praise... it is very rare that I can stand synth AT ALL, but so far (admittedly I'm yet to buy it... just heard the bulk of it today at a record store) I've not had an issue with it (although there was one track - Broken perhaps or around that point in the album - where they crowded the track with drums, for seemingly no reason but to piss me off, thought they were going to just drop the original beat and let the drums take over.

And as for singles I could see one of the early tracks getting released as a single. White Flag for example is probably more accessible than Stylo, about the only thing that says 'single' to me about Stylo is the fact that the video clip is made of win... but yeah, there's no Feel Good Inc that the GP is just going to want to sink their teeth into...

I can't believe Empire Ants isn't considered for a single, it's arguably one of the best (if not THE best) songs on the album. And IMO could make a kick ass video, possibly one that shows the return of the real Noodle.

So, what are people making of this Alan Moore/Gorillaz link...?

Did anyone else see them on Jolls Holland last week?

I just got Plastic Beach today after hearing "On Melancholy Hill" on Fuse today. I can't stop listening to it. I loved Clint Eastwood way back when, but I stopped listening after that, but Plastic Beach is AMAZING!!!
