This is a thread devoted to one of my favorite musicians, producers and all around badass Brian Burton, better known as Danger Mouse.

Over the past several years Danger Mouse has been involved in creating and producing some of my favorite music.

First and foremost, though I did eventually grow tired of Crazy, I am a huge Gnarls Barkley fan.

Beyond just Gnarls though Burton has collaborated with a number of my favorite bands, producing albums for Gorillaz, The Black Keys, and Beck.

Theres also his band Broken Bells with James Mercer from the Shins.

For the past three days I've been listening to his latest project, an album inspired by spaghetti western soundtracks from the 70s that he put together with composer David Luppi with vocals from Jack White and Nora Jones.
Quite honestly it might be my favorite thing from Burton yet.

 Thank you.

A little more than halfway through and I can say that this is his absolute masterpiece. With all the work he has done as Gnarls Barkley, as the Broken Bells, releasing that album Dark Night Of The Soul and having loved it all, I am pleased to say that I love this the most.:wow::woot:

I agree, Rome is amazing.

Did he ever actually go through with his plan of releasing a blank CD-R with the art book for Dark Night of the Soul, after his record company banned him from using his name? I thought that was funniest f### you ever, even as a consideration

I'm not sure. That's the first time I heard of it. But I wouldn't have put it past him.:hehe:

Damn, I thought this thread was gonna be about a one-eyed mouse. :argh:

Rome is freakin awesome. I've been listening to the album for like four days straight and I can't stop listening to it. My favorite tracks is Season's Trees, Her Hollow Ways, Morning Fog but I like the other tracks as well. Perfection is the only word to describe the album. Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi's Rome is absolutely amazing.

His other works that I have been listening to is Broken Bells, The Black Key's Brothers and a few songs from Beck's Modern Guilt; and all of that was pretty much pure eargasm. I can't wait to see what Danger Mouse comes up with next.

His work on The Black Keys Attack & Release is some of my favorite. I think it really signaled a change in Auerbach and Carney's work, something more subdued and intricate. The Key's themselves are some of the best musician's around but when you add Danger Mouse like they did it just rewrote everything.

Yeah, I could see that happening.

WHAT!?

*goes and wiki's it*

That is fantastic. I must find these tracks.

Because, while they are totally different, they are equal parts awesome in those different ways.

That's my favorite Black Keys album.

Why do I mix up Danger Mouse and M.F DOOM? :csad:
Well, they were both in Dangerdoom, which was great. Dangerdoom was among the first hip hop acts I really liked. And I only checked them out because their songs were about Adult Swim and the album was released by Epitaph and, being a huge punk fan at the time, I gave everything Epitaph put out a listen. What I've heard from Danger Mouse & Jemini is really good too, but I haven't listened to the whole album.

I'm also pumped for his forthcoming collaberation with one of my favorite bands, U2.
