I kind of doubt that it's Tommy Vercetti, but god, do I hope it is Tommy Vercetti. My favorite character in the GTA series.

Trailer looks great and hopefully some characters do return from past games. I think that would be awesome. I kind of hate when past characters are just forgotten about when they move to the next game.

Haha yea, I'm deff in the minority. I haven't played that game since it came out tho, maybe if I were to go back through it my opinion would change.

I liked CJ a lot tho because apparntly I'm one of the few that doesn't hate black people here, hah.
I didn't hate CJ because he was black though. I hated him because he was just over all really boring character. Same for Niko. Neither of them had anything interesting going on like Vercetti, and well Claude had more of personality and he was ****ing MUTE.

I loved CJ cause I could make him fat and seeing his pudgy ass run from the cops was always enjoyable.

I think I may be in the minority here, but Niko was one of my favorites. I think it was because I could squint my eyes and pretend I was Leon from the Professional. :o Plus, I did think he was kind of a badass.

Nah. I like Niko a lot as well. Niko and CJ are my favorites.

I loved how much you could do with San Andreas. I loved getting CJ ripped then eating a ton and getting fat as hell, then biking around and getting ripped again, jumping off planes and parachuting, etc. Just so much **** to do. Like all GTA games I got bored of the story by the time I unlocked the whole map, so I would just dick around. At least in this one the space was incredibly huge too, I loved dragging police across the entire map as they try to take me down.

Dude, if the people making the game say it's only Los Santos. It's only Los Santos.

Yeah, but if there is proof that other locations are in the game from San Andreas then I'm going to believe that over a press release.

Maybe San Fierro and Las Venturas will be GTA V's Lost and Damned / Gay Tony.

No there isn't. There is areas of the surrounding country side and mountains (which the press release acknowledges). Nothing more.

What 'proof' is there in the trailer? A highway sign mentioning another city means nothing, and vague skyscraper skylines or countryside for you is proof of other areas? And you would believe that more than...

We are very proud to officially announce that*Grand Theft Auto V*is in full development.

Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created.

A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California.

So, besides the fact that you're trusting baseless speculation, the trailer is still made by the same damn people... Why would they lie in an official press release, one day after showing a trailer with so called evidence to the contrary?

Makes no sense, bro.

I doubt that. People have found evidence in the trailer that SF and LV are in it. Or whatever the other two cities were in San Andreas.

What evidence? Keep in mind that Los Santos and its outlying areas in this game will most likely bear no resemblance to the same areas from GTA: San Andreas.

I'd be happy if there were other cities, but I'm really not expecting it.

I doubt it. That's asking for two completely new maps. The DLC in GTA IV just added two stories to the existing world. I'm not saying it's impossible, but that would probably take a year to develop one new map, but for that, you'd figure that they would start working on a different game or a whole new GTA game.

Wish we had all of what was in SA, bu from the leap of GTA III TO GTA IV, I'm not worried. This game will be massive.

What's the big deal if it is JUST Los Santos?
I guess people just feel that since the game has 1/3 of the cities from SA, than it will be 1/3 as awesome.

Luckily I never played it so I don't care. I just want a new GTA game already.

As much as I enjoyed the size of SA... I always, ALWAYS got friggin' side tracked.

being only in los santos is fine, but it's a bit disappointing considering we're missing out on a lot of potential in san fiero and especially las venturas.

I'm hoping you have two different campaigns with two different characters (Tommy and CJ). One as a high class criminal and the other as a low class criminal.

if cj is in the game, he would be the high class criminal. going off the end of san andreas, cj is basically filthy rich and powerful.

I think that's the problem. People are judging the game for what it could have been, as opposed to what it will be. Granted, we don't really have any details about what the game will be like or about. But it seems like people have these big expectations already and are pretty much bound to disappointment.

Yes, but as someone mentioned before, San Andreas' Los Angeles was rather limited. There's a lot more to LA than we just saw in San Andreas, which focused mostly on the inner-city areas.

From the look of the trailer, there seems to be a wide variety of locations. Maybe even more so than Liberty City did in GTA IV. Maybe they compressed all that was great about those three cities into this one big one.

The issue with Liberty City, is that it's a rather limited environment. It's located on small islands, and it's impossible to escape the cityscape. The traffic also makes high-speed car chases difficult. Those don't happen a lot in real-life NYC for a reason.

Nah. I like Niko a lot as well. Niko and CJ are my favorites.
Same here. I dont get the Niko hate. I thought he was the most developed main character and really dug him and the cast of charcters around him, especially Packie. I still hate that Rockstar didnt give him his own DLC

What's the big deal if it is JUST Los Santos?
Bc Los Santos was the most boring of the 3 cities. I thouight San Ferro and Las Venturas were much more interesting environments. With any luck though elements of those will be incorporated into this new Los Santos so that its an amagalm of all 3
