Great movies no one knows about

The King of Comedy

This doesn't seem that obscure but overshadowed by Deniro's other work.

Mary and Max

Love Fallen Angels and Mary and Max. Seems like if it's not Pixar or Dreamworks or Aardman, quality animation feature films get ignored every year.

Well if we've gone from talking about films no one knows about to just foreign films or slightly obscure films, I'm going to throw my favorite Korean movie Oldboy out there.

Mysterious Skin.

It's a powerfully poignant film that I never want to see again.

Joe Wright's Pride & Prejudice
24 Hour Party People
Wristcutters: A Love Story

And two Scorsese classics that for some reason no one ever seems to mention:
After Hours
The King of Comedy

I'm not really an indy guy but I absolutely LOVE these movies.

Delicatessen.

City of Lost Children.

The Big Blue.

Small horror but utterly awesome.

Dog Soliders.

The Decsent

Attack the block.

High recommend for all these movies whether you like small independents or not.

Another excellent thread that works as a list of movies to watch.

My suggestions:
Peacock
Smart People
Rrrrrrrr!

The Kill List - Two hit men get mixed up with a mysterious cult

Four Lions - Awesome comedy about dimwit terrorists

In Bruges - needs more love for sure DACrowe

In Bruges is in my top 5 movies of all time, and the only one in there that doesn't have any fantasy/sci-fi/superhero elements.

I seriously freaking love it :)

Only didn't mention it because most people I know have heard of it, and certainly most people on here have.

Wristcutters: A Love Story

Seconded. Forgot all about that! :)

Also:

MirrorMask
Rules of Attraction
Sexy Beast

The Purple Rose of Cairo

The Man Who Wasn't There

The Abyss (it's Close Encounters... IN SPACE!!! No, actually, under the sea)

Farenheit 451 (didn't like it, but it's an interesting movie)

The Ape Woman

A boy and his dog - sadly almost forgotten, but should be a sci fi cult classic. if not for anything else, then for the last scene alone.

^ True, but compared to other Cameron movies it kinda is.
