Okay!:)

Seriously.

i have it too...it could and probably will get a a bit of a price hyck...after spiderman 1 came out...all of the old green goblin comics, especially the one where gwen stacy dies...prices went up

I wonder how much the one where Harry dies will be?

i'm sure it will go up some...but whether it's more than $4-6 dollar is beyond me. guess we'll just have to wait and see...

come oooooooon may 4th!

Is it Spectacular Spider-man 200? Because I have two copies of that. In it harry dies saving peter and mj from a building that's on fire (i think). Anyway, I hope its worth a fortune soon. Willing to sell!!

This is the one I have....

why couldn't they just use that costume on the cover? that's a classic.

also, the problem with the spiderman comics (and all marvel really) these days - besides the fact that he reveals his identity - is that the art is pathetic. sal buscema did that cover, and he was great. so were john romita sr., gil kane, steve ditko, ross andru. they've got one great artist they use for covers - clayton crain - but not for the stories. the art in the stories is worthless.

p.s. the art doesn't get any better than it was in AS #121, the issue where gwen stacy dies.

Talking about comics, what runs should I pick up for the whole symbiote - venom storyline, and the church bell tower etc

The symbiote first appears and joins with Spidey in MARVEL SUPER-HEROES SECRET WARS #8. Peter's initial wearing/rejecting of the suit takes place in AMAZING SPIDEY #252-259. The church tower incident, where the suit tries to re-bond with Peter and he uses the bells to remove it, occurs in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #1. And we learn Venom's subsequent origin via flashback in AMAZING SPIDEY #298-300 (really just Venom cameos in 298 and 299; #300 will tell you all you need to know).

back to the topic of this thread. one of the best parts about the osbornes and green goblin in the comics was the split personalities/amnesia of norman and harry and the warehouse headquarters. you saw them go over the edge and remember everything about peter parker and spiderman, and then go through the alley into the warehouse through a secret entrance and make the transition into the green goblin. in the movies you don't have that. you don't have the instability and amnesia that peter was constantly worried about. "when will he go over the edge?" "when will he remember?" and you don't have the secret warehouse. maybe they'll use those elements in spiderman 3, but given that they can't even stick to the costume, i'm not betting on it.

They will probably be worth a few more bucks than cover price, just like a lot of comics. Unless they are silver age comics from before people saved anything don't expect them to be worth that much unless they get slabbed. Slabbing comics is ridiculous. An issue of Spawn suddenly goes from being worth 10 bucks to like 500?

This has very little to do with the movie.

Man I wish I had that. Maybe they'll be giving it away at the theatres like for The Punisher. Or Maybe they'll give away the first issue with the black suit in it, or spidey #4 the first sandman, or maybe Spidey #300 the first Venom! Ah, a boy can only dream.
