So I finally broke down and bought a Wacom today... still getting used to drawing with it, but getting better. Here's an Arsenal that I just finished.

So, this month's contest inspired me, and as I get the characters of my JSA piece done, I'll post the work in progress here. As you may tell I've begun to get the hang of using the Wacom, and as such my art improved :o

    Here's the Spectre portion:

    No, not actually.

When Spectre first came out, in the 40s, he looked like this.

Dr. Doom's first appearance in the 60s
    [IMG]

    Spectre in the 70s
    [IMG]

    And Spectre now
    [IMG]

So, obviously Dr. Doom had his look before Spectre had the look he has now. Since the green cape and mask didn't get the look they now have until after Dr. Doom was introduced in Fantastic Four. I win. :)

Actually Meg, you lose, because that was only what the Spectre looked like while Hal Jordan was its host. As of less than a month ago he looks like this:

And honestly, beyond the color scheme and the hood I see no real similaritie between Spectre and Doom. Spectre doesn't have a full face metal mask, doesn't have a tunic, has bare legs and pixie boots (if you could see them)... and even in mine, hes not wearing a mask, thats the shadow from his hood.

Meg, I officially hate you

And Ted Grant could kick Wolvie's ass 8 ways to Tuesday.

    Thanks Blah :)

    Ted Grant the Communist/Marxist?

Or is that the Wolvie-wannabe's name? Its obvious he was ripped off from Marvel. The name, the half mask, the costume...too much coincidence.

If its any consolation, your work is pretty awesome.

Yes, because the great Bill Finger was a well known time traveller, went to the 1970s when Wolverine was created, then returned to his own 1942, and copied the idea for Wildcat.

Nice stuff. Flash is a little too blurry for my tastes.

Yeah it's cool, but I don't thing just making him blurry accomplishes that very well. It obscures the artwork way too much. It would work if only some of him was blurry, but at the very LEAST the face should be clear.

I think it would look better if you made three layers of jay with the back two nudged to either side and blurred. I'm not sure if that made sense, if not just tell me and I'll explain better.
