Hi i'm usually a strict Marvel guy, but im slowly broadening my horizons...

Anyway, I've always wondered how a GL flies:

• Does the ring empower the user with flight directly, like a Legion ring?

or

• Does the GL have to create a construct around themselves, which they then manipulate accordingly?

The first option seems the best, as the second would require additional concentration which would be a pain....

Similar properties of the Legion ring, but more advanced....given its OA-n technology.

Some speculate that the Legion ring was created based on the specs as the GL ring.
Not sure if the Guardians or even the sectors GL, was given permission to allow their ring to be used in the creation of the Legion ring, or if LOSH resident genius did it on his own.

LoSH genius did it on his own.

just think if they did would the Gaurdians sue them

While it has always been depicted as simply granting the GL flight, i always thought of it simply covering the GL from head to toe (or simply under thier feet) with a very thin form fitting construct (hence why we dont see it) that is then controlled to fly by the user.

It just allows the user to fly. That's my take on it. If it can allow the user to walk through solid objects, I think mere flight is the least of the logic problems you'd run into regarding the rings. Best to just not think about it too much and accept the explanation that the Guardians' science is far enough beyond our own to appear magical to us.
