Great start to the show.Im guessing we will not see much of Carol in this. Why do they keep casting Jen Hale as characters who don't show up much.

Good start for GL:TAS.
Had no problem with the CGI. Good enough for me.
Voice acting was well done.

The DC Nation shorts were just plain DUMB.
If they were suppose to be funny, they missed the mark badly.

Just watched. Loved it.

Green Lantern Animated Series to Debut in March
1/14/2012
Pictures in the article reveal some spoilers about what's to come, so be forewarned about the images that accompany this posting.

Since the Cartoon Network aired the two part special episode in November Green Lantern fans have been wondering when the show would makes its official debut as a part of the networks new DC Nation block of programming. While the show has been touted to have a spring release, a new interview in Animation Magazine narrows that down a little by stating that the show will begin airing the first season of twenty six episodes starting in March of 2012.

The article features an interview with one of the series' producers, Giancarlo Volpe, who worked on other CG animated series like Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The interview features comments from Volpe about the challenges of working on a 3D animated series, such as having to really consider how a character moves in three dimensional space for the CG animation process to work correctly, an obstacle that traditional hand animation doesn't have to overcome.

While CG animation is new to Warner Brothers animated veteran and Green Lantern Executive Producer Bruce Timm, the studio is relying on the same Taiwan CG studio behind the highly successful Star Wars series to bring the Green Lantern mythology to life. The switch to CG animation was also one of the driving factors in moving the setting into "frontier space" since the cost of the animation made the ability to render large forces of Green and Red Lanterns cost prohibitive. Series' writer Jim Krieg relates drawing inspiration for the writing challenges from an old World War II themed television series.

“My mind went to an old show called Rat Patrol, which is essentially a World War II story told with four guys fighting Rommel in North Africa,” says Krieg. “It’s a war story told with four characters instead of an entire army.”

The animated series producers are sharing a lot of information with DC Comics and some concepts and characters are leaking back and forth between the two production teams. Recently the Interceptor, the ship used by Hal and Kilowog to reach frontier space, appeared in the Green Lantern #65 as a part of the "War of the Green Lanterns" storyline. Blue Lantern Saint Walker appeared as one of three statues from the animated series at the New York Comic Con in 2011 and a new image from the show reveals that Queen Aga'po and her Star Sapphires will be appearing during the first season.

This thread doesn't seem to be getting too much attention. I'm having a real blast with GL so far. It's a lot of fun, and the animation is, for the most part, pretty great.

The animation could be better but I agree, it's a great show.

Thanagarians! I'm a happy camper! :woot: Star Saphire looks great as well. I hope to see Adam Strange and Captain Comet on the show sometime. Maybe the Green Lanterns will make a trip to Tamaran or run into Lobo. Maybe even Superman. That'd be tops. I love cosmic characters so seeing DC's cosmic universe on screen, the potential alone gets me excited. I'm glad they're already setting up for the Blue Lantern Corps and Sinestro Corps. This is all going to pay off great. That fight between Kilowog and Skallox looks intense.

Also this show got me watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars since the animation style is so good (and it comes on right before GL anyway) and it turns out that show is awesome too. I'm gonna have to start at season 1.

Last episode was quite good, i'm more interested in seeing the other Lantern Corps than in seeing hawkman, his species or even other heroes, hope Sinestro eventually appears, if not this season then make him villain of season 2 if there ever is one.

Much more fun than Young Justice. Hope we get a Green Lantern/Flash team up somewhere down the line.

This is okay, but I LOVE Young Justice.

I want an episode where Superman confronts the Green Lantern that is the guardian of the sector Krypton was in. He shoulda been able to save at least some of the Kryptonians lol

He tried actually.

Tomar-Re wiki said:
Tomar's most famous mission while serving in the Corps dealt with the planet Krypton. Krypton, a planet in sector 2813, was growing increasingly unstable. It was due to explode, caused by internal pressures deep inside the planet's core. Tomar-Re sought to use a rare compound called stellarium to absorb some of the tectonic pressure, thus saving the Kryptonians. He gathered the compound, and was en route to Krypton when a yellow solar flare blinded him, and forced him to drop the stellarium. He quickly recovered, but discovered he was blind. He gathered what little stellarium he could without his sight, and proceeded towards Krypton. He was closing in when his vision started to clear. The first thing he saw upon his sight returning was Krypton exploding. The Guardians recovered Tomar and brought him back to Oa, where he healed and rested.

I knew they had to bring in Saint Walker. It's also a matter of time before they would have Carol Ferris as Star Sapphire. It's awesome to see the Thanagarians.
I wish to see Aya in action in her robot form. :super:

Speaking of Tomar-Re, where the hell is he? He didn't make an appearance in the show yet.

It's only been 3 episodes, and they're kinda focusing on whats going down in a sector that's so far away, the lanterns would have to build another ship to get their. So, you know, I wouldn't expect to see him, or any of the others really until they leave there.....if they leave there.

Hal, Kilowog, Aia and Razor are the main cast of characters so far.
