They got transported far from Earth, it took them generations to get back. They were basically trapped and cutoff. Seems like GL doing something similar. not the cutoff part though

Yeah, the creators said it was cheaper to strand them and have them fight big threats instead of having to design and create the 3600 Lanterns that would logically show up to aid them. Especially since they're already fighting another Lantern corps.

I can deal with that for this season. That works as an overall arc. I hope this won't be the entire show, though. That'll get old quick.

Hal, Kilowog, Aia and Razor are the main cast of characters so far.

It appears that way, but they may add Carol Ferris/ Star Sapphire and Saint Walker to the main cast or they may recur.

I hope they adapt the Rann-Thanagar War comic storyline into the animated series.

I hope Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire reappears. It would be weird to have a Hal-lead series without her.

It would make sense to adapt the Rann-Thanagar War given that they're bringing in the Thanagarians. I take it that we may have Hawkman Katar Hol instead of Carter Hall.

I wonder if they're going to show the Tamaraneans with Starfire and Blackfire.

I agree that it would be strange to have Hal without Carol.

I don't think the group being stranded would get old quick. If anything, it would allow for more variation visiting different planets and whatnot.

Plus, I always felt that Green Lantern on Earth sometimes doesn't match in tone with Green Lantern in space. I think this is one of the reasons I didn't dig the GL movie. Maybe it's just me.

If that green female GL turns out to be Aia, then I think they might have her and Razer become close. Id have to double check but she bares some resemblance to his deceased wife.

Oh, it's not just you. That's why I didn't dig the movie either. The animated features got it. The movies clearly did not. It's like they didn't bother to watch Star Wars or even Star Trek. When I look at the stars I think of how awesome it would be to be out there as a Green Lantern and when I saw Star Trek in 08 it whet my appetite even more. Theeen the actual movie came out and they just...missed it. Green Lantern belongs in space.

You're right about them visiting different planets but I'd really like to see other Green Lanterns show up. Plus you can't have the Sinestro Corps. War if it's just Hal, Kilowog, and Aia vs an entire army of Yellow Lanterns.

Well, right now it's just them 3 fighting an army of Red Lanterns.

I'm curious as to how that will turn out. It's not really a war as it is just the three of them trying to stay alive. Especially from the looks of that clip where they're just booking it until Kilowog turns around to fight.

Really reminds me of Incredibles. But in Space.

I think that's why those combinations work. They don't make as much sense as they should. Hal being carefree and relatively irresponsible is why he's so interesting to read in the Green Lantern books. He sticks out like a sore thumb next to other GLs and especially next to Kilowog. If Hal was militaristic and in-line all of the time he'd be...Well, he'd be John Stewart.

You just touched on something that may explain why I'm not a Stewart fan in the comics. On Justice League and Justice League Unlimited he has The Flash (Wally West) as a foil. Flash is the one who lightens things up the way Superman lightens things up for Batman. Therefor at least on the show John Stewart is interesting just because of his dynamic with The Flash (as well as with Hawkgirl). In the comics he doesn't really have that. He's just another super serious GL doing his job.

Hal Jordan is egotistical, macho, and overconfident. Kyle Rayner is the optimistic daydreamer artist. Guy Gardner is an obnoxious pig. John Stewart is a by the numbers soldier with an attitude. Out of all of these guys John Stewart only works with the right partner. I don't think I'd be able to watch a weekly show about just him and Kilowog being serious together.
