This is amazing. There's every chance this could turn out awful, but I. Needs. This.

I'm cringing and shuddering after reading all that wondering how it'll be executed...

I just need to see if they'll cast an authentic ginger as Archie.

My God, I think I'm way too excited for this.

The one who wrote Afterlife With Archie is doing this. If he can make zombies work in this universe, I'm sure he can make it work as a TV drama.

A drama?I can't see making this a "serious drama".I'm all for an Archie series, but I'd expect something akin to the old Sabrina series or more probably "Saved by the Bell".

Why does it have to be a drama?

With Sacasa bringing up Twin Peaks and Lynch, I really hope there's a certain retro-ness to it, as was the case with Twin Peaks and the look of that show.

Those smiles on Betty and Veronica are semi-terrifying.

I wonder if Sabrina will be in on this show too.

I'd be surprised if she isn't since she's been shown in her own universe sans Riverdale since the sitcom and the subsequent animated series (including the recent CG one on Discovery Family now FKA The Hub Network)

Pretty much as soon as I read "darkness bubbling under Riverdale's wholesome facade" in the plot summary, I figured there would be some Twin Peaks-ness to this, and it pleases me to no end that the writer backed that up.

If they do this correct this could turn out to be a really good show. Really embrace the characters and the wacky universe they live in.

Doesn't Melissa Joan Hart still own the live action rights to Sabrina?

I wish it was a comedy-drama like Pushing Daisies. I expect it to be like Once Upon a Time in that it will be colorful and surreal but full of melodrama, which actually could be good. It's kind of hard to see Archie as dramatic, but something tells me it will be so ridiculous that's it's fun even in the dramatic moments.

I haven't read it yet (though this news might make that change), but I've heard it's been fairly well received.
