Well, we might as well reboot it. We have some new characters, and since Marvel covered a lot of the individual issues of the Guardians, I'll just split the remaining days with them and the main Guardians issues.
First appearance of Nebula! In this issue we first meet her as a space pirate in command of the Sanctuary II starship (Thanos' old command ship). She encounters Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau) while trying to conquer the Skrull Empire.
Continuation of last chapter. Nebula shows just how calculating she is by sending Captain Marvel out on a mission to prove herself only to backstab her to destroy the Skrulls.
Nebula reveals her, supposed, lineage to Thanos. On his Sanctuary II. Speaking of which, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the name of the ship Ronan, Korath, and Nebula use in the movie.
Nebula's first appearance in four years and begins to set up her role in Infinity Gauntlet. Eros finds her on a planet searching for power that will make her more powerful than Thanos.
So the Avengers manage to take down Nebula with the help of Eros on her ship...but out of nowhere the Stranger shows up. Oh, Cap also offers Spidey a membership in the Avengers.
This issue was crazy. We find out the Stranger is after Nebula for stealing the Infinity Union from his planet in her search for ultimate power. So basically what appeared to be a simple Avengers-beat-em-up plot turns into something bigger. We also get to see Nebula infected by Eros's love touch and trying to flirt with the Stranger (ew). And Spidey probably delivered one of the best one-liners I've read from him when he called the Stranger Kareem-Abdul El Alien. Really loving these issue.
And Thanos continues to torture his "granddaughter". After finding that one of her former subservient had been keep her alive as a stowaway on the ship, Thanos immortalizes her as an art to represent the line between life and death...eek. And for this to be a Silver Surfer comic, this issue sure reads more like a Thanos comic.
Nebula is locked up after the events of IG. It was interesting learning more about her backstory and how Zorr had an effect on her current state, but I don't know how I feel about them trying to make her a sympathetic villain in the first place.
