Oh wow, I really said that? Damn, I'm actually ashamed of mixing them up... :csad:

... 'cause Moonstone totally deserves better. FACE! :oldrazz: :oldrazz: :oldrazz:

If DnA use the character for more than just Phyla's "love interest in the background", I hope they remember she's telekinetic as well as telepathic...something that seemed to be forgotten durring the Quasar mini and Conquest.

Telekinesis is so much better than telepathy. Although, they've already got Major Victory as a telekinetic, so they might continue to forget about Moondragon's telekinesis. Kind of a silly reason, but we've seen worse in comics.

I really think the cast needs to come back together. Splitting them up is fine for a while, but we've covered what each of the major characters has done since they split at this point. Time to bring the Guardians back together for War of Kings.

I'm certain they'll be coming back together for the event. I mean that is what events are for.

As for telepathy and telekenesis, Rachael "Marvel Girl" Summers has that power set now as well as Moondragon. I honestly wasn't clamoring for Moondragon's resurrection (I figured Ultron was due at least one Avengers kill), but it is what it is. It was decently handled.

I do understand the dilemma of teams with large casts, which is why breaking them up to focus on a few characters at a time is usually key. Once a team has more than 7-8 characters, I can't think of any writer(s) who manage to flesh all of them out decently. Some always rise to the fore and some always sink into the background. Bug has usually been a background character while Peter Quill is more forefront, for instance. Still, events are all about big battles so that would mean a unified GOTG. Angry at Quill & Mantis for "teeping" them to unify, the universe does have a need for that sort of thing. I think some of the "separate" stories will start to converge, like Adam Warlock's Universal Church for Truth thing (which I am certain will lead to the return of Magus, especially since Maelstrom is now back too). If anything, GOTG has hinted that there are more dangers to the universe right now than Vulcan's power trip. He just may be a catalyst.

I think once WoK is done, the book really needs to be streamlined. They need to get back to the Starhawk/Major Victory mystery and the Universal Church of Truth thing.

They may do that in the middle of the event. Kind of how NOVA is still following it's own story while being attached to the larger event as a whole. That usually is the best way to do these things.

True. When's the last time we even saw Starhawk and Major Victory? Feels like they're due for a bit of follow-up.

Starhawk and Victory showed up at the end of Quill's 42 story, with Starhawk trying to convince Victory about how grave the time/space situation is.

I have a feeling that GOTG will tie into WAR OF KINGS like it is supposed to, but still try to carry on with their own story to a degree. I mean that was what they did with SECRET INVASION.

Yeah, DnA are good at blending the crossovers in seamlessly with their own ongoing stories.

Which is actually how to properly do crossovers.

Finally caught up on this, I never really read much involving that malestrom guy but now I want him and Drax to go on a road trip or something, they're back and forths are great. Got to love a proper evil villian "don't blame me it's just the way god made me" rant.

If by road trip you mean, Drax repeatedly murdering maelstrom all over the galaxy then yes. I agree.

I appreciate that Abnett & Lanning haven't forgotten some of the "space menaces" from yesteryear. While Maelstrom may best be known as the guy who died at the end of GLA: MISASSEMBLED, he was a major cosmic menace in the 90's, the last time that Marvel's space franchise was booming. It makes sense to include him in some capacity, much as GOTG has hinted at the return of Magus.

They found a good voice for Maelstrom, I think. I never cared for him before, but this deranged incarnation was very entertaining.

Agreed. Not that I had a problem with him before or anything...barely ever read anything with him in it.

I do remember from his handbook entry back in the day that he used to have a trio of lackeys..."Maelstrom's Minions". Wonder if they'll ever show up?

I was happy that Abnett & Lanning recalled that he was a longtime minion of Oblivion in general. It gives me hope that whatever retcon they are about to pile on Darkhawk will make sense.

The Starjammers are on the cover of May's issue #14, wonder what that will be about. I also am interested in seeing what Jack Flag contributes to the team, beyond another guy with low level super-strength (which in space is standard; even a token Shi'ar can lift about a ton I think, and an average Kree is about twice the strength of a human being).

What? No, you've got to love a villian that revels in just how delightfully mad they are. I generally don't like villians that seem to be too serious, if you're the villain you should be having the time of your life or death in this case. I also liked his like yin/yang you can't let either side get too powerful or bad **** happens speech.

Yeah that whole "Evil is subjective" thing kinda got to me. I mean, at some level some of the villains in both Marvel and DC aren't really villains. They're timeless beings or entities that have long outlived anything a human could fathom who have been doing whatever they're doing since time immemorial, and they stumble upon Earthlings who just won't have anymore of that.

Also liked the little "If theres too much good it's just as bad as too much Evil, just in a different way" thing.

I could see both points with ultimate life being a matrix or big brother type thing and chaos being well chaos. So the freak made a damn fine point.

Woo, it's nice to see the gang back together. I hope they show them talking out the whole mind teep problem.

Awesome, Jack Flag suited up! :) Good preview. DnA have got to get over this "I AM GROOT" crap, though. He can say other things. Read the Star-Lord mini again, guys.

I agree on Groot, but I like Jack Flag's uniform for the team. It is a little bemusing that while on Earth he may be considered a low level super-strong hero, Class 1 or so, in space that just makes him as strong as the standard Shi'ar. ;)

I saw that before, but was too lazy to post a preview link. It looks good.
