Honestly, I thought this movie would be just okay before I saw it. It ended up being my favorite comicbook movie since the first Iron-Man.

Anyone who's down on it, should watch it before passing judgement. It definitely exceeded my expectations across the board.

Glad to hear you liked it!

A lot of what I'm hearing in terms of what's positive and negative seems to line up with what I was expecting. Of course, I'll still have to wait and see for myself to make a final call.

Without going into details, the one thing I disliked was the Lizard's master plan. Thought it was cheesy and a bit lazy. That was probably the only thing that kept it from a 10 in my book.

at least it's loyal to the comics :oldrazz: but I agree, it's a little lazy. But, what else they could've made him do? It's not easy to write The Lizard as a movie's main villain. That's why, even though he is my favorite villain, I never wanted TASM to use him. He could work as a part of a bigger story, but even that way he only would've worked in a sequel

I predict 82-85%

The action was flippin' amazing. You can't blame the inferior action of Raimi's films on him. This is due to 10 years of advancement in CGI. But it definitely looks awesome now. It makes Maguire's Spidey look as slow as Nick Hammond's in comparison. :oldrazz:
What? Action in Raimi's Spider-Man is cool, even if CGI doesn't look movie like

It was good for its time definitely. But we're five years removed from the last Raimi film and over a decade removed from the first. It does look dated and Raimi's Spidey even seems sluggish compared to the human pinball that Webb's Spidey seems like. Sorry just my thoughts. Feel free to disagree.

Yeah, I think someone needs to rematch the train battle in Spider-Man 2. And the final battle with the Green Goblin was pretty brutal... so intense.

While the CGI in Spider-Man (2002) is pretty outdated, and there were some truly crummy moments, but there was some CGI that was really good. The whole final swing looked decent to me, as well as several other shots of him swinging.

The range I picked on the poll could be what TAS-M gets in RT. It's been in the upper 70s for ever it seems.

I've always thought if they were going to use Lizard, it would be best to include Kraven. That way, you don't need Lizard to have a plan. He can just be another chess piece in Kraven's hunt, and it adds the drama of Peter needing to protect himself and Doctor Connors from Kraven's bloodlust.

That does sound like it would be a good story though. Its always possible that Lizard can come back though for the third film. Very unlikely, but you never know.

i really hoped it would stay at 77%

Considering the movie just came out a few hours ago, it's very likely going to up and up (then get knocked down by a single negative review, **** **** ****)...

I think it'll settle around low-mid 80s.

I thought that too...until he said yard trimmings...

I can't see the movie's RT score going that much higher to be honest.

Yeah it's staying around the same area if not a bit lower. I think the max it can go up to is 78% now and that's a big if.

If it doesn't get lower than 76% then it is probably really lucky.

Not that I don't follow Rotten Tomatoes, although not an exact science, it is an interesting tool...but why are you guys so gung ho about it scoring over 80?

Because its looks better than anything below 80.

Fanboy pride. That is pretty much it.
