it was ok, but I was kind of disappointed... I kind of expected a bit more for a season finale than just a failed attack on the Master's hideout with him escaping into the sunlight...

For me it felt like one of the 'better' episodes of The Strain, hopefully the writing and pacing will better for season 2. I'm still debating if I'll check out the next season or not.

It still entertains me, though the wide variance in tones can be off putting. And, it looks like they will be dealing with the "book" like the novels. Wasn't a huge fan of that part in the books.

It's pretty much how it went in the comic/novel and I was hoping for more too. I was hoping that rather than following the comics for what they've done with Kelly in the show, I was hoping that Kelly turns into another Eichorst-like thinking vampire complete with fake make-up and everything for the show. That would have made for a more interesting take on things.

Now having read the comics and are up to date with them(Dark Horse is currently doing The Night Eternal) it makes me wonder if I spoiled myself on what's happening next given that the show seems to be following it page by page.

So I guess the Occido Lumen's going to be the centre focus macguffin next season or so?

It was an ok finale, kind of expected someone/something to do die so that was a surprise that nothing happened in that department.

Though I hated how they just stared at the Master once he fell outside, he wasn't bursting into any flames so they should've got out there sooner and tried to kill him. I was expecting all his vamps to come cover him when he called to them.

another major disappointment was that we'll have to wait for another year for the Vampire Commandos... that scene with the Ancients only got me more antsy for some progression in the show...

Very inconclusive season finale which I'm not a big fan of generally but was not surprised by. This whole season has felt in part like a prologue to the main story that will come later and hopefully season two will bring that with much better, consistent writing.

I gave up on this after three episodes, surprised people are still watching it.

To be honest, I don't think I would have attacked him when he fell into the sunlight either. I honestly thought that it would kill him, especially watching his reaction trying to avoid it when they were breaking the window. I was shocked when he ran into the underground. That sunlight had to bother him because he called all his minions to him when he got hit by it.

Very good finale for me & great CG work, exciting reveals as well.

Disappointed they cut out the old Luchador, unless they are saving him for season 2.

They should of tried to cut his head off just to be sure.

They had plenty of chances but it was like Mr. Oldie wanted him 2 run away. If only the a hole would stop talking & just ****ing do it

The Master is laying there sizzling like bacon in the sun and instead of slicing his head off you just stand there. WTF???:whatever:

Also not buying that NYC is in some kind of media bubble and FOX News and the other media outlets don't have the entire planet in a panic by now.

i wanted more...i enjoyed it ..but wanted more

Vampire wife is still hot to me. (i have problems)

i'd still hit it. worms or no worms. :oldrazz:

they should have been all over the mother****er swinging away. since the master is suppose to escape anyway. have the big galoot defend himself by blocking the attacks then have him ***** slap Eph and the old man away before making his escape. thought the same as Slayer. thought his minions were coming to shield him. the way they withdrew was pretty cool and creepy.

i don't why Eph and the gang just completely wrote off the sun like that. it was killing the master. just not instantly. next time, nail the mother****er to the ground with that nail gun.

"If you're planning on eating Mexican tonight you're gonna choke I promise you that ****. "

I laughed.

Old man tossing the lady was hilarious.

Will Fitzwilliam be joining the hunt or is that it? the gang could use a man like that.

There are a number of ways they could communicate and get message sent out logically but for obvious plot reasons they don't.

You just have to suspend your belief and go with it for this show.

Havent seen the finale yet myself, but this is exactly how it plays out in the book, Setrakian thinks the sunlight will kill Sardu/The Master, once they get him there they feel the job is done, but The Master is stronger than even Setrakian realises.

Sunlight was killing him, it just wasn't doing it fast enough for their liking and no one tried to speed the process up by shooting him full of silver or stabbing him a few times.

Then again I wouldn't want to get that close to him either.

I actually reread the first book few days ago, and the show's finale was pretty close to what happened. However, both times I couldn't really explain to myself why the heroes just stood by and did nothing. I mean, okay, you have the monster right there, writhing in pain under the sun... dammit, put a bullet in its head. Better yet, empty a whole magazine. Stab it with those nice silver swords... Murder the crap out of this thing, until there is nothing left. But noooo, they just stood there and enjoyed the show. Well, duh, of course it will escape!
