Action-Adventure Guy Ritchie to direct Young Sherlock Holmes series | Amazon Prime

The Barry Levinson film is great and one of my favorite Holmes films. Much better than Ritchie’s Holmes movies. It doesn’t get enough recognition for being the blueprint of the classic hero prequel/origin film (movies like Batman Begins may have borrowed a lot from it). And the score is fantastic. I highly recommend it to any Holmes fan who hasn’t seen it. Nicholas Rowe and Alan Cox make a great Holmes and Watson. It also features my all-time favorite take on another classic Holmes character (if you’ve seen it, you know who I mean). This new series doesn’t appear to be connected to the film but hopefully it takes some cues from it.

Tiffin was good in Ungentlemanly Warfare and The Woman King; I wouldn’t really say he stood out though so we’ll have to see how he handles a lead role. I hope Ritchie doesn’t try to emulate the style of his own Holmes movies with this; all that slow-motion-flash-forward narration stuff became insufferable in the second film.

Solid cast so far. Though I wonder if it’s difficult to act as if your uncle is your dad, lol.

Nice, I enjoyed her in 3 Body Problem

Alright, now that’s a nice addition. If this does take some cues from the old Young Sherlock movie, I could see Firth playing a Rathe type of character.
