Sherlock - Series 4

Overall I really enjoyed the episode and found it to be an appropriate swan song for the show if no other episodes are made. Yes it was tense almost to the point of uncomfortability but that makes sense given that this might be the final case we ever see of Sherlock's. Plus, I believe a lot of the tension derived from the fact that this might be the series's finale. I was legit worried that Molly and Mycroft were going to die. I wouldn't've felt that way during a previous episode.

If the series continues at all after this they just need to make light episodes that don't contain any larger plot beyond a mystery. Maybe make each episode shorter.

The things I didn't like:

- As others have noted, the way Molly comes skipping in at the end. We needed a scene of her making up with Sherlock.

- The ending with Sherlock and John running out of the building. Cumberbatch and Freeman must've laughed at the cheesiness of that.

- Sherlock forgetting about his own sister turning his friend into his dog in his memories was definitely weird. I'm not even sure that's possible.

- The way his parents didn't want to lock Euros away for killing Victor but did after she burned down the house was kinda lolworthy.

- Euros needed stronger security after being recaptured. There's nothing to stop her from hypnotizing people again.

People completely forgetting traumatic events and replacing them with false memories I'd actually something that does occur within people from time to time. It's also possible to "implant" false memories into other people. There have been studies with psychiatrists who are capable of doing this.

But yeah, it's possible. I agree on the Molly and Euros stuff. We just needed a bit more resolution with them.

When Moriarty said "Holmes killing Holmes", did he mean Sherlock killing Mycroft, or Sherlock killing himself?

The principles said something to that effect, but only kind of, and not really. Everyone involved said they would like to do another, but also acknowledge that scheduling for this show is a bit of a mess (which is why it took three years to release season 4). Cumberbatch and Freeman are hot A-listers at the moment. It is hard to work around the schedule of one of the hottest commodities in Hollywood. Two of them, who need to be together in the large majority of the scenes? Its a logistical nightmare, if not impossibility.

It may happen, but if it does, it'll be a wait and require one (or both) of the principles to cool off a bit. I don't see that happening with Cumberbatch any time soon...especially now that he is a key player in the Marvel cinematic universe, which will ensure he has a pretty hectic filming schedule for, at least, the next 4 or 5 years. In his downtime, he may want to branch out and do some more adult work, award-bait, that type of stuff. Same with Freeman (minus Marvel, plus several TV gigs). I think it is just going to be very hard to get everyone together again.
Freeman's in the Marvel films too, though... He's Everett K. Ross. Not nearly as much of a busy role as Doctor Strange would be, but it still counts as being a part of the Marvel movies lol

Sherlock is coming back for "a new adventure" – but what does #TheGameIsNow mean?

Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are being all cryptic again...

Sherlock's Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss have teased "a new adventure" – of the Sherlock variety, obviously – with a mysterious video and #TheGameIsNow hashtag.

In the video, Mark and Steven point out that it's International Sherlock Holmes Day (May 22), before saying: "We better announce something.

Considering the two leads' relationship I don't think we will ever get another episode (unless they kill off John), and Gatiss and Moffat straight up said that this wasn't a new episode or a new series. I guess it could be a video game or a website like Pottermore.

I wonder what they're doing these days. Gatiss probably still does theater and TV but Moffat has left Doctor Who. Still waiting on that modern Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde...

I'm really annoyed with the writers after this last series so I'm not sure if I'd even watch at this point.
