Johnnie Mullins' neighbors love Halloween as much as the next heathen, but they think his decorations this year crossed the line from fun-scary to scary-call-the-cops-there's-a-dead-body-in-our-neighbor's-driveway.

"Just trying to scare people, that's what I like to do," Mullins, of Mustang, Oklahoma, told News9 in defense of his "Halloween prank": Two fake bodies that appear to have met a bloody demise outside his house.

"My heart about came out of my chest. I thought ‘Oh my God,'" said neighbor Rebecca Fuentes. "If I think it's real, just think of what a child would think?"

The children "don't freak out or anything," Mullins insists, but it seems the adults are freaking out enough for everyone.

One neighbor was apparently so persuaded by how lifelike the dead bodies look that they dialed 911.

But Mullins said the police officers and firefighters who responded to the call were nice about it and told him he wasn't doing anything illegal.

"It's Halloween. I don't think it's too far," said Mullins, who has since added another body to his display.

I think these people really need to lighten up, it's friggin Halloween time.

I'd probably have called the cops on the house with the giant spiders all over it.

This is bad.
Seriously, the shade of the blood is inaccurate...not to mention the obvious: it's fricking Halloween.

What about the family who decides to have a graveyard planted in the front? I can get that it might be too graphic for some people but they should also take into account that Halloween is all about scares, tricks and treats.

Too many people react too quickly and sensitively to things they shouldn't. Maybe it's always been this way and we're only seeing it now but it's gotten to a ridiculous level that what should be obvious decoration for Halloween has people calling the cops.

Well said.

Eh, the neighbor called not to complain about his decorations, but because they were worried it might be real. Better to be safe than sorry, and all that.

This reminds me of the 911 call where a a person thought there was an intruder in a neighbor's house and it turned out to be a celebrity cutout of Arnold.

Or that guy who thought a woman was in trouble next door so he broke into his apartment with a ninja sword, turned out it was just his neighbor watching a porn.
