Halo Halo: Infinite

The fans have essentially F’d themselves. There has to be a way for companies putting out new content to make money or any game requiring a support budget and resources will eventually stop getting supported.

apparently the state of 343 is bad
Feels like a long way back till getting Halo games with high quality campaigns, multiplayer, co-op and Firefight in a timely fashion. :csad:

Halo 4 was the first game 343i made. What was your opinion on that? How did it's campaign & multiplayer etc. compare to the trilogy before it?

Just hope there is a way for Halo to get back to the top one day.

not even Halo on Playstation?
We don't know yet if Microsoft are going full multi plat or exiting the console business after the next gen. Already so much has changed in such a short time and if they are thinking money above platform advantage then the likes of Gears and Halo could be a novelty on PS after all this time, added to the fact that many 360 fans of those franchises moved to PS with PS4 and might be active players again.

but Halo, and to a lesser extent Gears, those are like the staple, flagship Xbox franchises. it would be like if Mario, or Zelda, or Pokemon, or Metroid, or Kirby (dang, Nintendo's got a lot those lol) would also release on Playstation or Xbox.

Yes, and Sony and Nintendo have guarded their franchises well while Xbox haven’t. It would merely be the next step that confirms the strategic shift suspected. Even multiplat products like Spidey are nailed down exclusive while the likes of Indiana Jones aren’t with Xbox.

All I can say is that if Microsoft gives up Halo's exclusivity, then none of their games are safe from being multiplaform.

I don't think there's any doubt that Halo will be coming to Playstation, it's just a question of when (not if). I don't think it'll be day and date with Xbox, but probably within the same year. Xbox doesn't care about exclusivity anymore, the only think they care about is being the world's biggest publisher and making as much return on investment as possible. That's why they're trying to get Game Pass on as many screens as possible.

The earliest this new Halo game will release is Holiday 2027 anyways, so I don't see any need to get worked up about it just yet.

With this kind of game that if done well, could turn into a multiplatform live service phenomenon (I actually think Infinite's MP would have done very well if they had pre-planned out the support for years sufficiently and been able to deliver on that), I think it would do better with a day and date release on all platforms to maximise hype and advertising dollars (rather than having to market at multiple launches and spread the budget).

Yeah, that makes sense. Somehow I forgot that Halo is multiplayer (I'm single-player only, myself).
