Harley Quinn costume idea!

Alright guys, well I got an idea for a "realistic" Harley Quinn costume this year (Not for me though! haha). Ok so, here goes, try to imagine this. So Harley would wear a pair of tight jeans, half red and half black. Then she would wear a short jean jacket, half black and half red (opposite the pants). Underneath the jacket, a black tank top. Her hair would be down, whatever color it is. Her face would be covered in white makeup with black around the eyes and mouth, kinda like the joker (except the red, of course). Top it off with a black and red glove and some black boots with some heels maybe, and there ya go! What do you guys think? Of course you can add a symbol or a design on the jeans and jacket, whatever you want. Whaddya think?

It might be good in some iteration, but next to a Johnny Rotten inspired Joker, I would be trying for something more punk inspired.

And you know jean jackets are sooo 90's. :P

I guess so. But it's kinda freaky and weird, it might work out. It's a first draft anyway. I plan to fix it up better.

Yeah but it makes her look like, at least in TDK, like shes trying to pull off the villain look. The reason I posted my costume is because thats just the way she dresses. Know what I mean?

Not really. But I think it would be fine if she had a sewed together looking costume, like, the red and black parts are from different cat suits she sewed together, and the jester mask would be a modified fetish mask, with the face cut out and the bells added on herself. then the face paint. And thigh high boots. She'd be like a clown themed dominatrix from hell. That would look fine next to the punk-inspired Joker.

take pris from bladerunner, a dash of marla singer for some co dependence, a bit of nancy for junkie effect and throw in some red and bam, nolan harley. dirty ripped nylons and smeared paint. she has too seem almost addicted to the jokers personality; like a cult member or victim of abuse ( which of course harley is).

Oh, and instead of the domino mask, the eyes would just be paint, sort of like the Jokers eye make up, but you know...connected over the nose so it looked vaugley like the domino mask.

I guess I'll have to do a mock-up of how I'd like her tomorrow.

No way dude. Isn't that basically the idea behind Burton's Catwoman? I still understand your idea, but the whole dominatrix thing is totally played out... and Harley is so submissive and devoted to the Joker a lot of the time, dominatrix is pretty inappropriate for her.

It's somewhat like it, but it wouldnt be nearly as sewn up looking. Just the seems down the middle. And I think that she would design her costume to look powerful, as she would deep down know she's not that, she's just the Jokers toy.

This is great. Add some tear streaks on her face, that ruin her make-up just slightly, give her a cruddy spiked punk jacket with a red diamond on the back, some fingerless gloves, paint her nails with alternating red and black polish, give her some baggy torn pants, and mismatched boots... voila! Harley Quinn. Next to Ledger's Joker, I want her to look like she took the same influences, but with her own interpretations. Like a stripper Joker wanna be on crack!

^^ That look would be great as well. When I said baggy pants, I didn't mean gangsta. Just not skin tight. Give her the ability to move a little. However, the skirt and stockings look gives her the same, if not more, freedom. Plus, it would make her more of a sexpot. Whatever that is.

This is my Harley. Very Nancy Spungen, rather punk-y, grungy but sexy and cute.

That's about what I have in mind. The only things I envisioned differently (I would give you a pic but my drawing skills are nil) is the hair, the boots, and jacket back. I like the short pigtails for hair, I'd like to have mismatched boots like say, one has a red stripe in it, and I envisioned the jacket as having either one big diamond on back, or the three-diamond design. But, yeah that's pretty much it.

Uhhh. And her normal look isn't pseudo-goth/vaudevillian/whatever anyway? She's a fricking harlequin for christ's sake.

And mine isn't goth, it's punk. What about it is giving you the 'goth' impression? The Joker's look is based off of Johnny Rotten, who was like the face of punk in Britain in his time (and is infinitely better than Sid Vicious), so I don't see how it's inappropriate for Harley to be dressed along the same lines.

Plus I think she's sexy.
