Has Christian Bale Lost Steam?

Because like Keaton it was said by many that Bale was blackballed by hollywood and only limited to family films and smaller movies, all because he turned down a massive paycheck for a sequel he didn't want to play a part in? right?

After all, if this is what equates 'losing steam' for Bale, then I'd love to see the pro-Burton public in here admit that by the same logic, Keaton was already dead at a similar point in his career a long time ago.

Try reading the whole sentence of my post instead of just looking at the part that offended you most before replying next time.

It didn't offend me I could care less about Michael Keaton or Christian Bale for that matter. I'm a bat fan but I don't get emotional about the batman movies or the actors involved in them like many others on this site do. But to be specific ok let's go and look at Keaton at a similar point in his career meaning where he was after Batman Returns. Oh yeah he was making smaller budget movies like My Life and The Paper which were successful financially because they didn't have huge blockbuster budgets. So yeah how is that even similar?

lol Bale serves his roles yo, he's never gonna lose steam if he keeps his s**t up.

No Bale is Bale, Batman is a fictional character. Besides, EVERYONE knows Adam West IS the one true Batman :woot:

Oh about that....JEH out Batmand Christian Bale. It's a fact.

I was speaking within context, ofcourse.

No, JEH was Rorschach, not Batman(two can play at this game):oldrazz:

^ That is completely false. All it means is said role has touched a significant portion of the mass audience where the actor and character are forever associated. There are plenty of actors who have that one role they're known for, despite being great in other roles as well.

Brando/Vito, Ford/Indiana, Depp/Sparrow, Connery/Bond, Welles/Kane, Weaver/Ripley, Ledger/Joker, Hopkins/Hannibal, etc. etc.

Thank you.

By similar point in his career, I meant whenever Keaton's films were not only unsuccessful, but his films and/or his performances were lackluster in terms of quality. I'm sure you can find such a point in his 'long and illustrious career'.

Besides, it is funny how you're being so defensive for him, after stating you 'could care less about Michael Keaton'. :funny:

Just bringing balance on here with actual facts cause it seems like people can't comment on any Batman actor without trying to bring down another one for no real reason. Whether it's Keaton, Bale, Kilmer or the Cloonster. I love the assumptions in here that just because we feel Bale could do better with varying it in the mainstream it automatically makes us Burton movie fanatics and Michael Keaton disciples. Maybe just maybe we're commenting on his career as a whole because he's been one of the more consistent actors in terms of putting in work this decade and not just because he is Batman.

Oh and the grammar cop in me just realized that by me stating "I could care less" I meant I actually care about those guys at all. It should've read "I couldn't care less" and shame on you for not at least taking a slick jab at that.

You have crushed my puny self-esteem with your destructively cerebral verbiage. I give you my word you will not get away with this.

I'm not sure but I think this might be sarcasm. I mean it looks like you're being serious but maybe a little over the top with it. Plus the "not" part sticks out like a sore thumb, not sure if you did that on purpose but still. Hmm, I say to close to call on this one.

13 pages about Christian Bale, some took this too seriously...:o

Same here. If you go through my earlier posts, I've got nothing against Keaton or Burton. But I do get involved in these kinds of partisan bouts occasionally. My first assumption was that the intentions of the threadmaker for bringing up this subject were the same as yours. That was until he claimed that Batman never stole the spotlight from the Joker in TDK when his bias became apparent.

If I ever want to become pedantic enough to pick on people's grammar on the bloody internet of all places, rest assured you will be the first person I will come to.

Now I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic.
