Has Christian Bale Lost Steam?

What's with the Bale/Keaton comparison? It's apples and oranges. At Bale's age, Keaton's career was just beginning, and they're markedly different types of actors.

My Batman's better than your Batman.

No, JEH was Rorschach, not Batman(two can play at this game):oldrazz:

I never said "JEH IS Batman!!!!!" I said he out batmand Bale, which is true. The fact that he did and wasnt even playing Batman says a lot as well.

There are plenty of actors who have that one role they're known for, despite being great in other roles as well.

Brando/Vito, Ford/Indiana, Depp/Sparrow, Connery/Bond, Welles/Kane, Weaver/Ripley, Ledger/Joker, Hopkins/Hannibal, etc. etc.

Talk about poor examples as most of these are well known for multiple roles, not just one.

Ford is as well known for Han Solo and Jack Ryan.
Brando for Stanley Kowalski, Terry Maloy, Kurtz, Jor -El,
Weaver for Dana Berrett
Depp for Cry Baby Walker, Edward Scissorhands, Tom Hanson, Raoul Duke,

What I find really, really funny and never ceases to amaze me is, how all around the world, people always state their opinions as if they were unquestionable facts...like....should what you think be really THAT important for any other than you ?? :whatever: Or is people so desperate for aproval that they need more and more people agreeing with them so they don´t feel so alone anymore ?? THAT is pathetic, if you ask me...

Oh, and on the subject...

BALE DAMMIT :cmad: !!!

I never said they weren't recognizable in other parts.

The characters I mentioned are simply the most popular roles associated with the actor.

Wow, I...don't agree with any of those, except maybe Johnny Depp for Edward Scissorhands...but Tom Hanson and Raoul Duke are as well-known characters as Edward Scissorhands?

Jack Ryan is as well-known as Han Solo (or Indiana Jones)?

Not nearly.

Holy ****, blast from the past. I remember that.

BALE DAMMIT!

Ya know ? There´s something that just feels right about typescreaming "Bale dammit"...it just feels....so right....:brucebat:

BALE DAMMIT !!!! :cmad::cmad:

did anybody even start bashing christian bale until the new terminator came out?

did anybody even start bashing christian bale until the new terminator came out?

I think a portion of the bashing started from his growl/voice in The Dark Knight. Before that it wasn't too bad.

Once that came out all the haters grabbed after his TDK Batman voice as the reason to hate and then TS came out, and here we are today.

 That's just plain stupid...

I dont think he has lost steam, I just dont think he is a draw unto himself yet. What I mean is that just because TDK was a hit, the film-makers should have assumed him headlining TS would draw the money in, because TDK had many factors in its success, not just Bale. I have no doubt, that in the future, Bale WILL headline successful movies, TD was just maybe a bit early.

Patrick Bateman and John Connor.:cwink:

Not liking Bale's Batman/Bruce Wayne doesn't make me a Bale hater.

I don't say s**t to be cool. If I did wouldn't I be one of the many kiddies who say that TDK is the best movie eva and Christain Bale is god? Because that is the popular opinion which I just happen to disagree with strongly.

I just wanted to say that because it seems some are insinuating that.

This thread reminds me of the awesome Bale.
