Has joining the hype taken the shine of your fascination with superheroes?

you'll still be in for the post film analysis, that's where all the real shine comes off.

i generally don't like getting spoiled but the plot of that film is fairly transparent, kinda like the first two.

I know we don't see eye to eye on this but I think the Spiderman movies have been the only consistant Superhero movie franchise to date. Marvel in my opinion has yet to pull off a good trilogy. (Blade, X-Men :down)

well neither has dc...

DC has to get off their ass and stop relying on Superman and Batman.

I stay away from most of the forums for specific films for the same reason. I like to be able to find some surprises when I go to see those films, Spidey being the biggest one of them all for me. I'll read those forums a bit when a film is announced and there's all this speculation going on. Once actual reports start pouring in and the casting has been set, I start avoiding those forums. I enjoy the Misc. Films forums the most because I often come across films that I may not have found out about otherwise.

Actually I tend to hang out in Community more than anything else, with short forays into other forums on a very rare basis.

I like those rare basis forum forays.
Like once, I went to, lol, the Hulk section, and there were still, lol, people fighting about whether or not The Hulk was a masterpiece or poo. Hahahaha

like I do occasionally about Fantastic Four. :o

It was so ridiculous 'cause I talk 900 times more smack about Uwe Boll, who is German.
White like typing paper German

Well the Hype hasn't changed my opinion about the heroes I love. Wolverine is still the best! :D
But still I'm not the fan girl I use to be 3-4 years ago. Then, it was like the heroes I loved were my entire life...like nothing else existed. Now things have changed a little...and I wished things were the way they used to be...

Guilty pleasure is watching JAL get mad when someone says "Insert Actress Name Here" would have made a better Sue Storm. :o

Hahaha, yeah, I forgot about that racism angle too, "The only reason you don't like Alba as Sue is 'cause she's HISPANIC!:cmad:"

Maybe it's just because we don't have any illusions anymore. Especially not after you follow the production of a movie from casting to over-analyzing every frame of the trailer to all the craptastic politics happening off-camera. We used to be able to show up to a movie, have it blow our freakin' minds, and go home. Not anymore.

I'm debating boycotting the Spider-Man 3 forums from now until May so as not to ruin the entire movie for myself. I don't want to see every set pic and read every article because then I'll know the entire plot of the movie before I walk in. I learned my lesson from The Last Stand, thank you very much.

If it's not growing up (and I know that's part of it, for myself anyways) then it might have something to do with the transparency of film productions and the amount of information we can collect through the net.
I have mostly stayed off of the Spidey boards because I ruined the second movie by reading up on every little detail.

If anything, it's heightened my manlove for a certain winged mutant. :meow:

Before coming to the hype i was just beginning to read comics that were at the library. Then I met a poster from the hype that said they had good threads about The runaways so i had to go. I think the hype has made my fascination with superheroes better. Well not in the sense that some of these girl superheroes have posters saying great jokes and such. In the sense that people to hate characters that i hate like Molly Hayes. I just found out there is a club of where she must die and hippie fascist. I want to make one with just molly hayes i have to be on more to know about hippie fascist:woot:

ZOMGSSS!!!
there are comic books at your library!?
i used to WORK at the library!
and i would still be working there if only we had comic books at ours!!!:hulk:
why i'm green with envy.

Well mostly graphic novels they had actual issues but those were soon torn up by little kids and stopped soon afterward:csad: i hope to work at the library too so i can select what they get:woot:

over doing stuff takes the shine off. plus everything seems like a momentary distraction from doing something worthwhile now. if i only knew what that worth while thing was.

I think that perfectly sums up my entire SHH experience.

the hype hasn't spoiled MY interest in super-heroes
reading about the CIVIL WARminiseries on the other hand...

Reading Alan Moore's Watchmen killed my interest in superheroes.
