Have you ever been "the only one" in an environment?

I'm usually the only redhead anywhere. In fact of all 130 something people at the school (including students) I'm the only redhead. There are more black people, gay people, asian people, blonde people, foreign people than me. (The list could go on)

On my applebees trivia team i am the only straight guy i think.

When I was in China we went to the Hard Rock Cafe, I sat with two girls and they were both vegitarian. I ordered a hamburger.

And a couple of times I was the only white guy in the hotel room with two black people.

Ya must have some irish in ya.

Being a redhead tends to be tougher on guys. Ginger guys get picked on and can't get dates.

I'm only 1/8th Irish (my great grandfather). The red comes from the Northern Italians (my great grandparents) and my mom's watered down American Scottish side.

My father is the only guy I know who had blonde hair and a red beard...

I hate that people still use those stupid owl pictures. Its not funny anymore! Not that it was even funny in the first place :whatever:

for just over a year i was the only male in my workplace, not as fun as it sounds.

I've been the only white girl, and the only female before.....of course it depends on the situation, but normally I don't feel uncomfortable.

Not just for a one time thing, but either in school, at work, etc. Are you or have you ever been the only male, only female, only white guy, only black guy, only gay guy, etc. at functions, events, or the aforementioned work or school? Did you feel perfectly at ease, uncomfortable, or what? The little team group I work with here is pretty much all white guys, and we're cool and what not, but they make sure to note I am the "black guy" in the group, whenever things like rap or "urban slang or culture" is brought up or used.

I'm the only black guy at my company.

I didn't take pics of being in the room. Sorry :csad:

But in Beijing and Shanghai, I was the only white guy in a room with two black guys. And in Xian, I had only a two person room so I roomed with another black dude. They were pretty cool. You should have heard their rendition of "I Wanna Pee On You."

LOL, I respect all the white people that go to black functions, cause you have some balls to stand out like that. Us darkies are used to being the only one in a group of youse guys. :o

:woot:

I'm the only black guy at my company.

I went to a job interview for this company and during the interview that kept referring to position as fast paced, etc, and the kept referring to the movie Pursuit of Happyness and how my role in the company would have been similar. I would have been the only black guy there. Of course I was hired, but I didn't accept the job.

When growing up from a baby until 6 or so, I lived in an area that was predominantly white, my best friend was white. We lived in the suburb, but my grandmother lived in the hood where I had my other set of friends. I remember one day in school, 1st or 2nd grade at the time, he said "George doesn't have to worry about combing his hair". :wow: As you can see, that moment stuck with me. But, I've been in so many moments where I was the only black guy.
