Have You Ever Competed In A Karate Tournament?

I competed in a karate tournament(open to all styles of martial arts) two days ago & I got 3rd in forms & first in sparring.

If you have ever competed in a karate tournament, what was your experience like?

No I havn't but there was one right next to a comicbook con I went to we all made jokes about how all the 8 yearolds could get our asses.

yes, when i was a kid, i have 2nd and 3rd olace meddals (4 total) never got 1st though)

i was close one year but this 12 year old black girl who was about 5ft 7 when i was 10 and only 4 ft something. she kicked my brothers ass in the 1st round then i had to fight her, and i felt bad but i beat her lol then i was beat in the 3rd round

I have competed in Taekwondo, Freestyle Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing and Vale Tudo bouts over th last 27 years since I was twelve. Since I had a knee Op recently. Not through Martial arts through Rugby and I actually need another one I think any further competitions are unlikely. I also went for national selection for Taekwondo in the late eighties early nineties.

I competed for 16 years,.....Kenpo,Jujitsu,Judo,...and mix martial arts tourneys,....

My expiriance,.....well,..if I had to do it all over again I would not have competed as much, I over scheduled to often. Once I turned 24 I was a little uninspired to keep competing.

Now I teach a few of kids from the neigborhood as a hobby and find that to be very fun, and it gives you a chance to affect someones life in a positive way.

that was my plan too, but I got hurt so I decided to quit altogether
