Comedy HBO's The Righteous Gemstones

I was surprised Eli didn’t try a little harder to take out the motorcycle gang once they pulled up alongside him.

...that can't be the last of Eli.
If it wasn’t for the promo they showed after the episode, I’d think it could be. They didn’t confirm anything either way, but Jesse and Amber seemed a little upbeat.

Then again, everyone on this show is basically a sociopath, so who knows?

Yeah, the promo is suggestive of his survival.

Not gonna lie, seeing BJ and the pics of Hamon is very... suggestive. Though I did laugh when I saw Judy's throw pillows.

I did laugh at Jesse getting insecure over his wife's markmanship. I was like, dude, remember when she sniped you across the lawn.

Pretty certain the assassins are hired by the Lissons. I will give many, many props if the gunmen is the Jonas Brothers.

Yeah, I may have almost felt the urge to join in at the beginning. At least there were no bees this time....

God, what an amazing episode. I love they are letting Cassidy Freeman do more. Judy, BJ, and Tiff confronting Baby Billy. Baby Billy's run away from said confrontation. Poor Keef in the cage. Just the whole hospital ambush, and the subsequent chase.

I was so sure that chase wasn’t going to work out in Gideon’s favor.

Also lol at the complete nonchalance about BJ having a throwing star sticking out of his head.

That car chase was great. Like the first season, when this show wants to ramp up the action, they go all out! I was sure that BJ was going to surprise us and kick some ass, only to get somehow get a shuriken in the head. He should really get that looked at...

As for the opening...I was sort of waiting for it to be over, really. I don't mind a gross out or vomit joke, but when it kept on going, I thought of that one scene from Team America. Or the epicac scene on Family Guy.

Also, pre-finale prediction:

Amber’s the one who killed/had the reporter killed and sent the guys after Eli. There’s been a few moments where she’s had a look on her face like she’s hiding something. She had it tonight when Eli was praising Gideon. I think something’s up there.

An oddly sweet episode. With a lot of bonding. Judy breaking the glass on the door was great. Amy-Leigh appearing to Baby Billy was great, especially the second time. Pity to see Kelvin's muscular men/cult go away, though the bit of "its your house" at the end was great.

Need Culkin to meet the rest of the Gemstones. Especially a reunion with Judy.

Pretty certain the ninja gang is the Lissens. Doesn't make too much sense for her to get on the bus she knew was for Eli that was intended to be ambushed. We still don't know what the reporter was digging up on Amy-Leigh though.

Aw ****, yeah, I forgot about the bus shootout.

I can maybe see that theory panning out. She seemed to be more into the idea of investing with the Lissons than Jesse was.

And for real, Judy suddenly got that superhuman strength, breaking the bus door glass like it was nothing!

I love when a big-name guest star isn’t spoiled ahead of time.
It was for me but that's my own fault for wandering into this thread before watching it.

Wow seeing Culkin was a great surprise hope he becomes a main stay in the series

Had to pause it to take it all in

I guessed that Eric Andre was behind it all, but not them reenacting Young Guns and The Shining... :hehe:

Great finale. I laughed throughout. Danny McBride and Jody Hill don't miss!

Was not expecting the toilet baby thing to come back around like that.

Also,
was that the Gemstones themselves taking the Lissons out or just people Eli hired?

This was another great season overall and I honestly hope this show never ends. I was pretty much right on how I predicted the finale to go down, but it was still a fun ride from beginning to end.

Eric Andre and Eric Roberts were an absolute blast this season as well although I do wish Eric Andre was in it a bit more, but damn do Danny McBride and Jody Hill know how to deliver.

I also hope Macaulay Culkin gets a bigger role in this show going forward.
.

If there's one way this season was a massive improvement over the first season, it was in its guest stars. Eric Roberts, Eric Andre, Macaulay Culkin, and I didn't even know that John Amos would be here, too! But everyone brought their A-game this season and it was just as enjoyable as Season 1.

That said, I don't think any child deserves to know that they were born in a Porta-John.

Gotta love how Lyle Lisson had his own incompetent posse, like Jesse. For a little bit, at least. The reporter dying to the ricochet was great.

Feel the need to call the authorities on Kelvin's new venture.

Next season is so about Judy trying to get pregnant.

Great season, can't wait till the next one.

I feel they heavily implied it was Amber, as it was a direct call back to when she shot Jesse in the first season.
