KS looks far from a fool. HE-MAN has plenty to do as does everyone as they flesh out everyone's story. If that makes people mad.... this isn't the show for you.
Now let's talk about the real awkward moment. Skeletor in any sexual moments should be illegal.
I liked the whole show. I think the biggest mistake was splitting it into two parts. The CG series was not split into two. There was no reason to split it into five episodes each. The general Netflix standard is like 8-13 episodes at launch without half seasons.
As for Teela's story, this sort of arc is inherent in multiple versions of the franchise going all the way back to the minicomics. I don't really mind that they explore Teela's heritage and Teela accepting her destiny.
The toyline originated as MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. It didn't become He-Man and the Masters of the Universe until Filmation cartoon came along.
I'm glad other people are really enjoying this, but I can't help but feel underwhelmed by the whole thing, especially when we had to wait so long for this second part eventhough I know it was only 4 months ago since it dropped.
Mark Hamill and Lena Headey were easily the highlights of this second half IMO and I really do wish they let Lena Headey's Evil-Lyn cut loose in this show because I felt like they could have gave her so much more to do.
I don't know maybe it also has something to do with me still coming fresh off of binging something as great as Arcane which really puts a show like this to shame when it comes to pushing the boundaries of animation.
When the backlash hit and he apparently realized it was worse then just online trolls, he started talking up the second half of Revelations to be about He-Man. Everything I read suggest it very much isn't. Still Teela's story.
I mean, there is an element of truth to what Darth is sayin.
There is definitely a bit of a disingenuiness to Smith hyping up He-man in the story when he knows he has He-man saying "This isn't about us" to Skeletor in the finale. And while Adam does get a bit of an arc, that is still eclipsed by Evil Lynn and Teela. I do feel that any complaints about He-man proper only being in the finale is a bit exaggerated, but there is still some valid complaints about Adam being a bit of a reduced role.
Overall, it was okay. I feel part 1 was actually better. As things things seemed to actually move forward in part 1, part 2 felt like it had a lot of spinning of wheels.
I did enjoy Evil Lynn powering up, and enjoyed the design. The process of getting to that and pretty much creating a Joker/Harley relationship out of almost nowhere was frustrating. Also doubley frustrating dynamic, because, you know, Mark Hamill.
We will see what season 2 brings, as they seem to be going full on technological with Hordak, which could be fun. Triclop's tech cult was a fun part of Part 1. And with the snake bit in the Zoar vision, I hope the Snake Men show up.
In the end, lots of transformations, no magical girl animations. 0/10
God Lynn is gonna be very popular with the cosplayers
I very much enjoyed part 2 and the season as a whole. It definitely has its flaws and I doubt anything to this point is going to change people’s opinions one way or another. Splitting the season was absolutely a mistake. I look forward to the possibilities of another season.
also loved the references to the live action movie with one of the henchmen being the guy with the swords in the movie and Skeletor saying the 'final battle' line.

OK but what's wrong with doing a story that explores more of Teela's backstory? There's an air of "girls are messing up and taking over my boys toys" element to some of these complaints here.

I mean the feinting of He-Man and Skeletor's deaths in the first half was a major reveal they probably wanted to keep hidden. Not really a big deal IMO. Then everyone lost it was and was like "They killed He-Man twice! NERD RAGE!" I mean he wasn't even frelling dead. And it was pretty obvious at the end of episode 5 he wasn't dead.
In terms of the marketing, the only mistake was splitting up 10 episodes, which is dumb and goes against the typical Netflix format.
I gave up halfway with the first batch of episodes ,and I think ill just skip this. Disliked the first ones so much , and none of the reviews and comments I have read have really made me change my mind.
IT was such a nice moment watching Ghostbusters Afterlife that Ill ride on those feelings for a while instead
That was damn fun.
It wont convince the people who had problems with part 1 because you get buff women and its not just about He-Man...so the people who whined about that stuff in part 1 wont like part 2 more.
But as a fan of the "Masters of the Universe" universe, this was a joy.
Many characters got something, fantastic animation etc...super neat.
Never should have been a two part thing and Kevin Smith etc made a lot more mess marketing wise than needed...but damn im happy as a fan with what we got.
I feel like many people have let themself be tricked by a certain group of...well i dont want to say fans necessary instead of going into this without any preconceptions...or maybe thats just me who wants to defend this, who knows.
I definitly was pleased by this in a grand scheme.
It has its weak points for sure, but overall i enjoyed part 1 and 2 and hope we get another season.
There is so much left you can do with how this ended.
I finally watched all 10 episodes as I decided to wait until part 2 was released to watch the show. Do I think it's as bad as people online make it out to be, no I don't. But I also only think it's good/average. I have four main issues with the show.
1. Style over Substance
I honestly think this show lacks substance and went more for style. Yes the show looks amazing but I feel like there are too many times where it seems like parts of the story are missing or I'm expected to know what's going on because of connections to other MOTU shows or lines. Or even worse in my opinion it feels like character deaths are supposed to tug at my heart because I had/loved that toy/character as a kid. I mean why should I care about Moss Man getting killed, I have no connection to him other that I liked the toy as a kid. Same goes for at least three other characters in the show.
2. It feels like I'm jumping into the story in season two.
While watching part one I kept thinking that if feels like the should be season two or even act two in a 3-4 act story. To me episode 1 feels more like the S1 season finale and E2 feels like the S2 season premiere. I also think it would make more sense if the story had at least one season to set up the story rather than just throwing us in the deep end. Like would people have as big of a issue with the Teela focused story if there was a actual build to the story rather than hey here's a new MOTU show but its not really about He Man and Skeletor. Yes Teela and Evil Lyn are important characters and I love them, they are not the main characters in MOTU.
3. Skeletor and Evil Lyn come off too much like Joker and Harley.
The Joker and Harley storyline between Skeletor and Evil Lyn didn't really work for me. Do I think Skeletor could be manipulative, yes I do. But Evil Lyn has never come off as a character to let herself become a victim of abuse. Yes I know and understand that people in real life are in abusive relationships when you would never expect it but I'm taking about fictional characters who have never been depicted like this. Admittedly I think in the Film action series Evil Lyn was just the most capable of Skeletor's henchmen and maybe even more capable than Skeletor. In the 200x series and so far in the CG show she's shown to have a desire to over throw Skeletor and if those versions Of Evil Lyn had as much power as the Revelation EL does they would have overthrown Skeletor with out having to be pushed to do so. Also Skeletor calling EL Lynny in my opinion is like the Joker calling Harley Harls. While on the topic Skeletor comes off to much like the Joker in general.
4. A sequel to nothing yet every thing.
This show was at least at one point being talked about as a sequel to the Film action series yet takes bits from three different shows and even the MOTU Classics toy line and even adds new stuff. This kinda ties into my first point but if I didn't have at least some knowledge of the other shows/toy lines I feel like I would have been kinda lost. Who knows maybe knowing about all the other versions hurt my viewing and made the story seem disjointed to a degree.
I honestly think the show has some special moments like Adam and Teela at the end. That scene may be one of my favorite MOTU moments ever. But the show as a whole never lives up to those special moments. I give the show a 7/10. Do I want more? Well that all depends on if they plan to sideline He Man again. To me the CG show is the better show and I can't wait for more of it.
There is more I want to talk about but this post is getting long so I'll do that later.
I think the show would've been better if they had say an extra five episodes or an extra season to set up the new status quo rather than break it all up at the start.
